Not only his eyes but his composure too, always walk like he's carrying something all the time. And in the end, He stand tall .... with a relieve eyes that he can safely pass on the heritage of Ancient at last.... Rest Emet, you deserved it.

This... perfectly summed up what I thought after this. The weight of the world on his shoulders, and he had carried it for a thousand thousand of their lifetimes. No wonder he was hunched over most of the time and only at the end, once freed of that weight and his tempering, did he finally look at peace.

Emet's voice actor just killed it in this whole role. I wasn't sure at the end of Stormblood what to make of him, but by this point, he's just so good.

I am not ready for the next patch!

Dunno if you already know since i just found your channel: Ardbert will now be always a part of us. We are nothing more than "broken husks", broken into 14 pieces of souls. Ardbert was one of those pieces. We should now be 9/14 complete. Emet didn't see Hythlodaeus in the light, he saw/recognised us- our former, complete self. We once were friends with Emet and Hythlodaeus in the ancient times. At least that is how I understood the Story.

@@SoundlessFantasy we're Azem in the same way Hades is Emet-Selch or Elidibus is Elidibus, whatever his name was before. The seat is a title of sorts

I think the gremlin was supposed to embody emet in the trailer without spoiling, just how he was practically mocking and scheming while we fight the sineaters

A bit of a fun fact, Emet-Selch was lying about expunging you from the records of history. As Hythlodaeus once said, He knows you only too well.

Emit's smile at the end.... 😭 He knew his time was over, and accepted it. And sorry for multiple posts, was writing replies while watching..... I get goosebumps and feels every time seeing someone else go threw this story for the first time. Doesn't matter how often I see it, darn feels and goosebumps every time.

I mean...honestly when Emmet went down at 5.0 we had already bested Elidibus a few times already, most veterans we had very little fate in him as a main antagonist

@@hectortoledo8938 it's true we encountered Elidibus before, but we never got to see a side of his like we did with Emet. Perhaps we could've seen it had their positions reversed, maybe. I mean Elidibus would have been imo, the likeliest to tag along with the story as he IS an emissary. The fact that we bonded with Emet is the reason everyone gushes. I'm just saying that it could have have been any one Ascian had the devs not used Emet. What I'm more curious about is who has Hythlodaeus shard/soul [Spoiler Alert] As we 3 seem to be connected.

@@saulmadrid9950 Elidibus is far too focused on his mission. We would have not seen the same side as we saw with Emmet. They both are tempered but Elidibus WAS Zodiark to a point. Elidibus even considered Emmet's relationship with us a mistake when you tell him he entrusted us their legacy.

emet was just an antagonist, he wasnt a villain, he wasnt doing that stuff because he wanted to, he was doing all that because he had no other choice to rescue his bethrens...

I remember my thoughts at the end of that cutscene being "Welp, Gaius is dead then"

Emet was a villain because he stood across from us, but all he wanted to do was to bring back those he loved. If the positions were reversed what would we want to do?

I am pretty sure we were the villains in his story

I got here a couple of weeks ago, and I'm watching others reactions to the ending of SHB to heal the hole in my heart. They went so hard on this ending, and it was such a fitting end to the storyline. I think that Emet-Selch is probably the most "human" villain we interact with. They're given a backstory and we get to know them through our interactions. He's not entirely antagonistic to us, regardless of his snark. We certainly don't have that kind of interaction with any of the Garleans (or, at least not with the ones that haven't defected at this point, anyways), or the Holy See, and Yotsuyu is a passing glance compared to Emet. The storyline of Shadowbringers also calls to the notion of, "what, or who, is in their right to call what they're doing as just?" We learn and start to empathize with Emet and his plight because really, aren't we doing the same thing? Aren't we bending others to our will for a chance of survival? Is that the right thing to do? Are we right to write the history of the world from the perspective of the victors? You can certainly draw on real world examples to see how well, or how unwell, the results turn out. It becomes even more meta when you utilize the history we humans have created.

i don't consider emet a villain, from his point of view his world was ripped away from him and he just wanted to save it and bring back everything he lost. from his point of view we are the villain.

That's what makes Emet-Selch so damn good as an antagonist. We know that, in our heart of hearts, he's not completely wrong. Just as we're fighting for our world, he's fighting for his. We related to him because *he is us*.

I AM SO EXCITED

Poor Amaurotines/Ascians. They were such sweet, innocent souls and seeing them slaughtered in the final dungeon was painful. I feel for Emet-Selch... :'( BTW I'm sure you realize now, but what Emet-Selch saw wasn't Hythlodaeus, but our MC in his ascian form before the sundering, Azem! Also don't know if you realized. But G'raha summoned our other parts from other world to fight against Hades in full power! Just like Ardbert is part of our soul from the First!
