I beat the game but didn't really feel much emptyness of everything until the next day after everything sinked in. The ending is pretty crazy

I came into Rebirth with the hope of saving Aerith. Now we’ve gotten past that point in the story and it’s gotten so weird and crazy (in the best possible way IMO) that I’m going into part 3 still with the hope of saving Aerith.

Oh, dude. I'm still on the fence. I just been watching this 4 hour podcast talking about the game, and so many things were pointed out that I am not sure of anything. One thing for sure, though, I am very excited for part 3.

The wait is going to be extra painful because before we didn't know, it was like whatever, but we know the final part is going to be the 2027 for the 30th anniversary. Hopefully, KH4 and maybe an FF17 will tide us over in that time.

Appreciate it, dude. I had to colour correct, as obs was washing it out a bit. I used Davinci Resolve to try to best replicate the source colour from the PS5.

the white whispers fight u so u cant get to aerith bc she needs to die. when cloud says aerith and the portal opens it is black whispers that open it, not white. meaning sephiroth allowed him through. just like og he wants cloud to witness aeriths death so that he can break him easily. @RustySabitaGaming. u may have figured this out already since its been 2 months, but i just came across ur vod so thought id pitch the idea just in case u hadnt considered the idea

There's talk that the Aerith we fight alongside of right at the end is this omnipotent version. Do you think this is our Aerith that's already back in the lifestream or a different one entirely?

@@RustySabitaGaming I see her as lifestream Aerith, it symbolises that they continue fighting side by side, although in seperate states of being. The end when she slowly desolves, back to back, fingers locked in a lovers grasp is very symbolic for that I presume.

my working theory and it could be wrong is that Aerith brought Cloud to the alternate world to get the materia that was white not clear. She took it from herself essentially. That Cloud and Aerith were never gonna wake up. So aerith took the opportunity to go to a world that was already ending have a few final moments with cloud and give him the white materia b4 sending him back alone. Then she took it from him in the forest so she could take it to pray in the ancient city. Cloud at the end is either crazy in denial that she died, or he's seeing her lifestream version, but now can see multiple realities at once. I could be wayyyyyy off tho.

I agree with that. I think cloud could exist in both realities at the same time. The surviving version of Aerith perhaps knows this but can't say anything, so she keeps her distance and decides to stay in the city. Orrr, it is in his head, and he's having another Zack moment, not dealing with his trauma. There is a case for both. Ar the end, there are 2 Aeriths. One that is happy and interacting with Cloud and another who is going around the group seeing them mourn and petting Red.

‘Those you fear, those you hate, those you love.’ Do you think the creepy illusions Cloud keeps seeing of Aerith after she dies is Jenova impersonating her?

No, I think her presence is a buffer against Jenova's influence. Her death is a turning point in so many ways. In the game of timeline chess between Aerith and Sephiroth it is the the move that locks the game in favour of white. That is why the sacrifice is such a confluence of time, like Sephiroth tells us. He just doesn't see the purpose, except for in his own play. If Aerith stays alive in one timeline, I think they will show us that World to be failing.

@Ohne_Silikone That's a good idea. Is that why she changes her tune about Cloud? Also, when Sephiroth says, "Yes, pray," like he knows - what do you think he's trying to achieve? He created a rift, but his goal is to converge them? How do we explain what's Tifa sees when she sees both Cloud and Aerith?

@@RustySabitaGaming what do you mean that she chases her Tune? Sephiroth ultimately doesn't understand the lifestream. He is part Jenova, not cetra. All he sees I guess is Aerith praying, without any resolution or effect. Yet Aeriths prayer and death are pebbles setting forces in motion. She herself intrinsically understands this. Sephiroth, being the destructive, unemotional and basically flawed being that he is, can not fathom this, or the strategic significance of Aeriths sacrifice. For him this is the perfect chance to mock her ("good Aerith, pray"), get rid of her and try and break Cloud in the process. What I find more interesting is: what is Cloud and why does he take this special position in countering Sephiroth? What makes him different from all the others, how does he even compare to them? It is almost as if he has a bit of cetra ancestry in him as well, being it far less than Aerith, as well as being infected with Jenova cells. This would also explain why he has the sensibility to see Lifestream-Aerith

@@RustySabitaGaming I can not really explain what Tiffa sees, but I guess it is due to the convergence of timelines, in which in most of them Aerith dies. I also don’t understand why there is only blood in one of them and not in our main one, although she dies in both. Maybe because she got struck differently. Now the flashes prior with Cloud talking through his grief are from the OG timeline, I guess. In that timeline, due to the limitations of the animation and lack of voice acting, Cloud did a lot of talking. In that case the bloody flashes Tifa sees also co-align with the OG timeline and the mortal wound she is given there. It would fit.
