My Healer LB macro says "I can fix this! I CAN FIX THIS!" and ya never pay attention to the graphical display of it because need to usually rush to catch next mechanic.

@@aesericho3651 This. On the rare occasion I'm NOT sacrificing myself for the good of the party, yeah, have to run to mechanics. It's not like the old FF games where, when get a summon or ultimate animation, you can take a brief breath as it plays out, knowing you can't be attacked until its over etc. Be nice if they gave you a little 2-3 sec invuln while and after using it just for that, but I could see people using that to cheese mechanics. Though if it was ONLY the healer......

I recently had the problem in e8 where the RDM used LB3 during redress where you get the eye to look away... it goes without saying, we didn't see the eye...

@Dj Sumner LB3 is different for each job. LB1 and LB2 are the same for different class. like tanks have the same LB1 and LB2 for example.

@Dj Sumner nah, I can understand why you're confused. LB2 and LB3 are common for all jobs in a role type. For example, SMN, RDM and BLM all have the same LB1 & LB2 as they're all caster dps, they just showed it with a single one of those classes i.e BLM. LB1 &. LB2 for SAM is the same as LB1 & LB2 for DRG, for example. However, every job has a unique LB3 =)

bahamut is a BIIIIG BOI. the palm of his hand is bigger than the arenas you fight in. we know this because we actually fight ON his hand in one of the Coils

Technically, the damage from the LB3 only goes out after they sheathes the sword, but yeah that doesn't show up well in a video showcase :P

You know, videos like this make me wish that Limit Break was an individual bar instead of a party one. I would LOVE to see some of these more often, but you never see them because we always save the gauge for the melee damage finisher, basically (or RARELY, the healer L3 LB for a wipe recovery.)

@@dawnwalkerwolf9655 I think one of the Ultimates you need it, and in 5.3's Trial (WoL) you need it in both the normal AND the Extreme version. When you see in normal him filling up HIS OWN Limit Break gauges, and see that yours is full, it means it's time to use the tank LB3 to survive. You do the same in the Extreme version. I'm not sure if there are any other fights that demand it, though. I was thinking maybe the last Alexander fight in Savage did, though maybe that was just a strat at the time, I don't recall. Or maybe that's the Ultimate......

I am so enjoy watching this, Astral Limit Break so beautiful and Dancer Limit break is fascinating. I love it so much.

I would love to have a place in game to practice limit breaks.

God dang, the amount of hand seals the Ninja weaves for their LB3 had the Water Dragon considering a guest appearance.

@@Evil_Beauty Black Mage, White Mage, and Red Mage are from 1987 in the original Final Fantasy 1. They've become too synonymous with classic Final Fantasy for SE to leave out the original jobs like that. They're a pretty big selling point for a lot of players. They're also not all in the same role. White Mage is a healer. Black Mage and Red Mage are both Magical DPS, but they're two very different playstyles. Besides, more recent jobs have been pretty groundbreaking for the franchise. We can see some of that even going as far back as Heavensward. Astrologian is based on a one off NPC ally from FF Tactics. And from what I've read it seems that going from Shadowbringers onward, they're more interested in doing original jobs. We have Gunbreaker, which is basically turning Squall from FF8 into a playable subclass. Reaper as a job is pretty much all new with some references to thing like FF11 Dark Knight from what I've been told. And Sage uses an old job name, but is completely different from its previous incarnations. So if we get another Caster (Ranged Magical DPS) next expansion, I would expect them to try something new or a most a completely fresh take on an old concept like with Sage.

@@defiantmars9910 Astrologer (I am NOT calling it, "Astrologian", that is not even a word) is a PERFECT example of deviating away from the pseudo Mage archetype and creating a perfectly original class in its own right. SE done THAT right. You already have base classes that are mages. It just seems redundant to create variants of the same archetype based off of that with different playstyes when their themes are still mages... It's unoriginal and lazy. Just like the meme that is Blue Mage. Great. Now we have another Mage archetype to throw into mix. As if we didn't have enough already...

@@Evil_Beauty You're working against roughly 30 years of momentum, so I don't know how much headway you're going to make fighting against the concept of the Black Mage and White Mage. They're just too ingrained in player's perceptions and expectations for Final Fantasy game with distinct job choices for them to be excluded. It would be fiscally irresponsible for the developers to do so for a product they need to sell. There are different schools of magic and the previous Disciples of Magic represent at least one. Black Mages and White Mages have always been complimentary opposites. One is a damage dealer, the other is a healer. And in 14, they utilize three of the six elements. Thaumaturgy with Fire, Thunder, and Blizzard magics versus Conjuration with Earth, Wind, and Water elements. Red Mages always combined the two with a bit of melee combat, resulting in the incarnation we see in 14. Again, I fully expect future Disciples of Magic to be rather innovative, but those three Mages specifically are something of tradition for the franchise and it would be very hard to break. Unless you have something like Yuna from FF10 where she combined White Mage abilities with Summoning magic. But I think the ship for this title has long since sailed.

@@1337penguinman Not really tho... I mean, ninjas using "ninpo" is an old trope. Ninjas using mudras in order to activate their ninpo is also an old trope. Heck, the Naruto series itself was a homage to the ninja media that Kishimoto enjoyed while he grew up (e.g., Sarutobi Sasuke was a ninja in Japanese folklore; many of the powers in Naruto are inspired by powers in The Kouga Ninja Scrolls; Kakashi is based on Rikimaru from the Tenchu series, etc).

It really is almost a shame the limit breaks are shared with the whole group, because you will pretty much never see, and never have a need to see, the tank LBs. While you hope to never see the healer ones, and then it will only be the LB3 when you do. And some of those look really quite nice. Love the multiple angles of them, though. It's nice to get a better look at what some of them actually are.

Thank you so much for sharing! It was fun seeing all of the detail bc I often miss these in battle it was also awesome as a lala player to see someone who looks like me making it all happen. :)

This is one of the best LB showcases i've seen, yet I have to agree that the finer details of movement animation are better perceived and appreciated on the other races.

I would love if the original LB3s for classes like BLM were updated graphically. It has impact, but to look even flashier would be truly amazing

Yeah, honestly the visuals for Fire 3 and Fire 4 at this point look about equal in terms of destructive power to this Meteor. Would be cool to get a visual pass to bring it up to snuff with the others.

Man unless I'm missing something, you have to make that the last thing you do in a party to be able to use the /grouppose, right? That's some next level dedication to get every single one. Mad props.

Best limit break vid I've ever seen. Kudos.

I like how the ones like the BRD and AST and WAR incorporate their ACTUAL WEAPON into the animation. (Contrast like WHM and PLD where it doesn't, and their weapon just kind of...disappears entirely.) The PLD one, for example, could use the Shelltron animation or Passage of Arms animation, and there's really no reason for the BLM's staff to just vanish instead of just overlapping it with the ethereal LB staff like how the BRD's bow is extended with the light of the Sagitarius one. It's just weird where weapons disappear, this crazy magic happens, then they seem to just grow out of the character's hand again. Notice how SMN's book takes part in the animation, but SCH's does not seem to at all. SMN's both is used in the initial cast and it reappears in their hand with a flare of magic. BUUUUT...most of the time we use LBs, you don't get a close look at your character or the animation anyway, I suppose...

And I thought I was the only one who is nitpicky about the smaller details in this game. Good thing I'm not alone in thinking that. Like how WAR, GB and DK are ALL tank classes in this game. Or how a BARD class uses a BOW instead of the traditional lyre for a weapon. It just doesn't make any sense... Not that I care about the class anyway, but still wanted to point that out. I also think some of the classes need better skill names. Because most of these sound generic and uncreative...

Red mage limit break kinda look like a happy face at the end.

Despite the countless Dragoon LB3s I have seen I never noticed the pose at the end 🤣 Great video! LB3s are so cool, it's a shame you really only see the melee dps ones in game 😅

and what makes it better tho is if you take a look back at the original FF14 (the one before ARR happened) the melee LB2 wasnt called bladedance but was instead called omnislash

literally the only thing i could ask form this is a character thats not a lalafell like hyure or elezen where the animations for the lbs are more pronounced but its still insanely high quality and done very well

I wish they could have done it on an elezen or some taller character so we can see the character's movement clearer.

Astrologian's Limit Break is so amazing. I don't really play healer so i must go to my second favorite, Black Mage's Meteor.

Is it just me, or do all the manifesting sounds of the weapons sound higher pitched? Is it a lala thing or just odd settings on their side? It's really obvious with Vermillion Scourge and the ranged LB1.

It's a shame tanks are apparently never supposed to use their limit breaks. Because that paladin one especially is so freaking cool.

Gunbreakers are tanks (don't ask me why, ask SE) and Machinists are ranged dps (physical). Apparently Warriors and Dark Knights are also tanks (again, don't ask me why).

House of Flying Daggers* Ninjas use arm length daggers in this game.

As a tank and healer player, I have literally never gotten a chance to use a LB before the dps just smashes that button faster than I could see the LB gauge get full.
