Your pronounciation was really good! Feuerschwanz just released a Manowar cover. It's a collab with Angus MCFife, Melissa Bonny and Saltatio Mortis and honestly, it's absolutely amazing and epic! One of the best covers and videos i've come across. Also, Feuerschwanz did a Black Metal version of one of their own songs just for fun. Check out Schubsetanz (BM version)

you really got the hang on hitting german bands that don't take it all to serious with "their" genre. Feuerschwanz are pretty much a band of jokers - as their bandmember names are all puns already and the songs are either a pun or joking about something actual grim. BUT this does not mean they make bad music - i really love them and they bring quite a show live as you might can tell. very much a feelgood band with catchy songs and rhymes. always a joy watching your analysis!

Lyrics: Feuerschwanz - Untot Im Drachenboot (Undead in the dragon boat) Dragons made of wood and sails Warriors, wild and daring Valhalla waits for every man Only he who dies on the battlefield Holds the axe firmly in his hand But what if you can't die? Off to your death With the dragon boat Into the steel sea And we sail across the sea Join our army Into the spray With the dragon ship Into the bloody sea And the sea turns red Our sail brings death Undead in the dragon boat (Undead!) Undead in the dragon boat (Undead!) In dark harbor taverns You can hear the sailors murmuring Draugr, out there for 1000 years Our ship fast and agile Neither dead nor alive Cursed to eternal privateering expeditons On to death With the dragon boat Into the steel sea And we'll sail the sea Join our army Into the spray With the dragon ship Into the bloody sea And the sea turns red Our sail brings death Undead in the dragon boat On to death With the dragon boat Into the steel sea And we sail across the sea Join our army Into the spray With the dragon ship Into the bloody sea And the sea turns red Our sail brings death And we sail across the sea Into the spray With the dragon ship Into the bloody sea And the sea turns red Our sail brings death Undead in the dragon boat (Undead!)

Welcome to the Feuerschwanz side of German Medieval- / Folk-Metal, where the hurdy gurdy and the bagpipes are common instruments. Feuerschwanz are a fantastic band, especially live. I did soot them several times and it was always great fun. Here they have three guest vocalists. A Feuerschwanz-song you have to see, is a very current one: „Warriors of the World United“ which is a Manowar cover and has three fantastic guest singers you might know: Did you do the Saltatio Mortis rendition of "Hypa Hypa" or "My Mother told me"(I think so)? Their singer Alea is in this video here as well. You did "Valhalleluja" by Nanowar of steel? The guest singer (Odin) Thomas Winkler aka Angus McFife from Gloryhammer is here as well as guest. Not to forget the powerful Melissa Bony from Ad Infinitum. I am hoping so much that their 2022 tour can take place and that I'll shoot them again in Hannover.

Watching your reactions is always a joy. Granted, I take every opportunity to celebrate the music that I love, but your combination of passion, knowledge, production quality and entertainment just works perfectly. (side note: Regarding phonation your german pronunciation is perfect, but you put stress in the wrong places and elongate the wrong syllables)

Sort of related: I wonder if you’ll ever do a reaction to Wintersun’s “Sons of Winter and Stars.” The song has a nice mix of black metal and folk metal influences, and the vocalist/singer performs with part of one of his lungs missing due to a battle with tuberculosis. If you ever do a reaction, check out the live rehearsal at Sonic Pump Studios.

Be interesting to see your thoughts on some of the older and... less polished works like Metnotstand im Marchenland. It's not bad by any means (i love it) but they dfinitely used to lean more into the camp and comedy then they tend to nowadays.

A little trick in german singing is, you start with your speaking voice till your sing in your singing voice "ich rede in meiner sprache, und sing was ich will" not growly but with heart... Btw cheers from Germany Btw, i am a bassist not a singer...^^

Mark, if you ever want to do a reaction that will trigger a lot of nostalgia for your Renfair days, do one for Ben Metzer's (the singer in this one) side project dArtagnan, it's medieval based acoustic rock, just the kind of thing that would fit right in at the fair. 🎻🎻⚔⚔ It's one of those things that has millions of views, but no reactions... or just listen to Farewell for fun. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZ-Hp9Cbj6yZiso.html If you do the reaction, I'm sure you'll find a story that can squeak past the guidelines, names chaged to protect the guilty parties and a liberal use of "so I was told" and "it was said that" just in case. 😉😉😂😂

They are essentially a LARP party band. Several of them are into Cosplay and Reenactment, but the reason they created their band was to make fun of other medieval / pagan folk bands in Europe as too stuck up and serious. So their costumes are part of the joke. More Discworld than Viking.
