"Schwanz" literally means "tail" in German but it's also slang for "penis" so... This song is an old classic by the band Seeed from Berlin and originally has nothing to do with medieval times. it's about a married guy who goes out alone, gets drunk, flirts with a hot woman, drinks with her and is having a battle with himself about cheating or not. in the end he ends up throwing up in the restroom. "Hätte nie gedacht, das kotzen meine Ehe rettet." "wouldn't have though throwing up would save my marriage." In Seeed's style it's more of a crossover between hip hop, rock, and whatever other styles they incorporate. They are a pretty large band with many members and pretty legendary as a live band in Germany. PS: as a German I really don't know what word you mean that is similar to "Schwanz" but is a derogatory term for a black person....

Just take a look at the bandnames of the members: Prinz R. Hodenherz III (Prince R. Testicleheart III) Jarne Hodinsson (Jarne Testicle's son - ok, there's some artistic freedom in this) Johanna von der Vögelweide ("Vögeln" is a slang for making love, but there's also the Poet Walther von der Vogelweide - pure coincedence, of course) Hans der Aufrechte (Hans the Upright) and (former member) Sir Lanzeflott (Sir Quicklance) So think about the band name again...

Feuerschwanz are a comedy Folk Rock/Metal Band. They are poking fun at the medieval scene in germany. There are a lot of bands out there that are taking themself WAY to seriously. So Feuerschwanz took some classiv mevieval Folk Rock Songs, covered them with funny joky texts and got famous with it. By the time, they got more serious, made their own really good songs and are by now a really famous band in the scene. Just to clear up when you were afraid of saying something racist when saying schwanz. It took me some time to even come up with what you could mean and it is not racist. What you most likely meant is schwarz witch is just the german word for black and since things like schwarzes kaffee is just black Coffee and you are allowed to say it. It was in the past used to refer to persons of colour in the same way as in the states with black, but as long as you don't use it to refer to a person and stay clear of that context, you are absolutely fine. As for the Schwanz part, like other allready said, the normal translation fpr Schwanz is taillike in Catstail =Katzenschwanz, in slang it has the other meaning, but again, starting there without explicit context feels a little of.

The correct translation for Schwanz is actually tail (like in the tail of an animal). Using it as a translation for dick/penis is actually slang, not the standard translation. However - all things considered I'm pretty sure in this situation it indeed means dick. However if you feel better that way you could translate it as Firetail, not Firedick. And yes, you're indeed pronouncing it incorrectly - however I've met very few US americans (or Brits for that matter) who pronounce german vowels correctly.
