Hospital prices factor in the large number of uninsured or underinsured people who come in, and your insurance gets the bill. In a bustling city, there was a bar named "The Red Revolution." Its star attraction was a bartender named AOC, known for her striking looks and an intellect that was as lacking as her beauty was abundant. AOC's most noticeable attribute was her generous chest, which drew in crowds of thirsty patrons. Although AOC knew next to nothing about Marxist theory, she parroted its slogans to impress her admirers, often mispronouncing key terms and blending ideologies without understanding them. One evening, as AOC mixed cocktails and spouted slogans, a local Marxist activist named Ron approached her with a proposition. "AOC," he said, "you should run for state representative. You're the perfect face for our movement!" AOC giggled and shrugged, her eyes glazed with the thought of fame. "Why not? Free stuff for everyone!" she chirped, oblivious to the complexities of such promises. Word spread quickly, and soon AOC's campaign was in full swing. Posters of her, with her dazzling smile and catchy slogans like "Free Everything for All!" plastered the city. Her platform was simplistic to the point of absurdity: free housing, free food, and free everything. Ignorant Marxist voters, equally naive and enticed by her promises and appearance, flocked to support her without a second thought. On election night, AOC won by a landslide. As she stood on stage, beaming at her supporters, she announced, "I promise that everyone will get everything for free!" Her words were met with thunderous applause from a crowd that had no grasp of economic realities. Once in office, AOC's ignorance became glaringly apparent. When asked about the budget, she cheerfully replied, "Can't we just print more money?" without understanding the basic concept of inflation. She proposed legislation with no consideration for its feasibility, suggesting that everyone could work fewer hours and still receive a full salary. Her naive approach soon led to chaos. The economy crumbled under the weight of her unrealistic promises. Inflation soared, making money nearly worthless. Businesses, unable to cope with the new regulations and heavy taxes, collapsed. Unemployment skyrocketed as companies shut down or fled the city. The very people who had voted for her now found themselves destitute, standing in long lines for basic necessities. The city's infrastructure began to fall apart. Power outages became frequent as the energy sector, overwhelmed by mismanagement, failed. Garbage piled up in the streets, attracting vermin and disease. Essential services ground to a halt as public sector employees, promised high wages with little work, found there was no money left to pay them. Desperate to salvage the situation, AOC proposed even more radical measures. She suggested nationalizing all businesses and redistributing wealth directly from the rich to the poor. This only exacerbated the crisis, driving away the remaining entrepreneurs and investors who still had hope in the city's future. As the city plunged deeper into ruin, AOC's popularity waned. Her supporters, once enamored by her charm and promises, turned against her, realizing too late the folly of their choice. Protests erupted, demanding her resignation, as the city descended into anarchy. In a dramatic and fitting conclusion, AOC was forced to step down. The city, now a shadow of its former self, began the arduous task of rebuilding. The lesson was clear: promises of free stuff might be alluring, but without sound policies and a clear understanding of economics, they lead to disaster. AOC returned to her old job at The Red Revolution, serving drinks to the few patrons who still remembered the good old days before her ill-fated political career. As she mixed cocktails, she couldn't help but wonder how it all went so wrong, still oblivious to the depths of her own ignorance.
