That was great craic Glyn, your father trying to hold the ferret in in the kitchen was gas!

Ferreting is a dieing art, great to see there is still some lads at it. My uncle used to tell me about the guys that came over to the island I live on ferreting for the skins in the 60s and 70s. But after the ban on sales of fur in the UK it killed the ferreting and mole trade

Hi Glyn , great video of Ned the Ferret helping reduce the number of Rabbits in your area. The beginning of the video with your dad and the Ferret was very funny. Glad that you had a successful day with the Rabbit hunt. I'm sure catching the Rabbits felt really good for you after spraining your Ankle awhile back on the Rabbit hole. Great way to end the video with your dad holding the Ferret in one hand and a Rabbit in the other.

@@sheepshepherd Yes I used to do ferreting for rabbits regularly . I don't have any nowadays it was getting difficult to get people to look after them if we we went away on our holidays unfortunately . We live in Scotland. Ps keep up the content on your channel love the variety 👌 .

That was so good to see the ferrting Glyn you're father with the ferrite at the start was hilarious 😂😂 i had a ferret a few years ago very same colour as ned he was Freddy I miss doing a bit of ferrting it was always a great crack with a few mates best way ever to keep rabbit numbers down Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one

Best laugh 😂 I used to love ferreting, had one that was always biting me so bred some and raised one from a baby….he was hide and seek champion 🙈😂 This would make a hysterical video, get those boys to put you on a real good spot and you, ya dad go with them, I can imagine the crack when they start bolting out thick and fast 🤣🤣

Glyn a great wee video of the old art of ferreting. And no blood spilt. Some people would never have seen the likes. There still a few people up here in Antrim keeping up the art. I have a few sheep too. Pedigree Suffolks. You don't need many of them to be busy😂. Like the ture reality of your videos. Keep it up Ta Rab.

I think at the end, when Ned didn't come out for awhile, he was convinced by the rabbits to just relax and play some poker, and drink some beer, instead of being enemies!

I remember when I was about 13 I went to visit a friend who lived in the countryside and here dad took us rabbiting with ferrets.... it was really exciting and we had rabbit for dinner. I never knew that this was a thing... I remember we had to go back the next day to catch a ferret that decided it didn't want to come out. Apparently it was probably having baby rabbits for dinner. I did not find any of it traumatising, in fact it gave me respect for the job of farmers and land owners keeping pests under control. Im in Australia and the rabbits have a devastating impact on our land.

Your ankle was almost broken because of rabbit holes. Rabbits are food. Good food. Even in America, there are meat rabbit farms. Your living of lambs harmed by , many rabbit holes, will be less now. Baked Rabbit, Rabbit stew with rabbit GRAVY will be delicious. Glad for your Ferret. Ferrets can even be pets, not for me, it maybe for you and your family.

Well let’s hope the rabbits have not been getting lessons from the homing pigeons. Tell dad those wessels are domestically bred polecats. Just after the war, we used to find the odd rabbit bone in the ‘chicken’ we were given, mind you that was much better than old tough cow beef.

If you had 1 or two more ferrets you would have caught LOADS of RABBITS omg ned is class but most people kill them and through them out to the foxes 🦊 or the magpies😊😊

It's amazing how destructive rabbit warrens can be. The native rabbits in the USA don't dig, so it is interesting.

The nets catch 8 rabbits, the ferret scares the rabbits into the nets. If the ferret catches a rabbit, it eats the rabbit and goes to sleep down the hole, so if you want your ferret back, you gotta dig em up outta the rabbit hole. Ferrets are good at scarring rabbits into the nets.

The rabbits like good clay ground not right putting them into a forest ,in donegal we give them the freedom of the land
