To add, people are disposing of their perfectly good clean efficient vehicles in pursuit to obtain the "new and improved more efficient car". Yet they fail to realize that the carbon footprint of just producing a vehicle is much worse than driving the car they bought 2 years ago until it dies...

So what's cleaner a electric car or a gas powered car? That's the real question around here.

An electric car will be better if the car battery can do 100K miles and then it's better than Gas powered but an average battery doesn't live for 100k miles so currently it's not

It's true the lifetime CO2 on a VW ID.3 is 119g/km even if it's never charged and used! There's a lot of european ICE cars below this level. I don't think small cars should be electrified. You're pricing the poor off the road.

some of the power plants that charge teslas batteries run on FOSSIL FUELS, also the batterie's lithium extraction is carried by giant mining bulldozers and trucks that run on FOSSIL FUELS, so lets see, tesla instant torque yes is attractive, but is tesla more environmentally friendly than a gas/diesel powered car????? that is the question my friends,

Faster, better, more reliable and they happen to be cleaner. Solar panels on your roof. If I said I had an invention that creates gasoline from sunlight they would be all screaming for joy to pay me for it. Duh, electric car and solar panels.

It's not about having a negative impact on overall CO2 generation. In urban environments it's about air quality & public health.

Alex Hughes If you really think that traditional diesel/gas cars don't affect air quality then take a trip to China instead of waiting 100 years.
