I hope that you are also both watchers of - The Car Guys - who are two English gents who have a garage full of modern Ferrari's. 458 and 458 Italia - are the last of the normally aspirated, non turbo engines. As The Car Guys say, the 458 will absolutely skyrocket in value due to its engine and as of today bring the 31st of September, 2019 the hybrid SF-90 Stradale being the stock V8 Ferrari. A Ferrari w i th an e l ectric hybrid motor.

@@Ob1tuber the elegance of a 458 revving makes my eyes watery every time I hear it. Any Ferrari engine revving makes me watery everywhere. Its elegant, loud, vibrant .... it feels like it has a soul. The gt350 its nice, but its just a loud roar.... nothing special.

@@devandrasimanjuntak1646 this is also why pininfarina had the downfall with ferrari the exact same thing happened to 360 and 430 and they couldnt find a good design that wasnt a firehouse so they demanded to ferrari to change the engine cooling system to a more efficient one

@Ken Norcott Actually I kind of agree, because the 488 exists which on paper at least, it's better in every single way (still prefer the 458 though), so the 458 simply became the previous model, the outdated one, just like the F430 (which admittedly is great used value these days) to the general public at least.

I drove a 458 not too long ago, I was 17 at the time. It was my first time sitting in a Ferrari let alone driving one. At the time the only other car I had drive was a fiat 500 and I’ll never forget the shock I felt when I started it and heard this roar behind me.

This was my very first dream car. 10 years later, it still looks achingly beautiful. A Future classic? Absolutely.

Zonda is a disgusting abomination. And a car can never be male, like all vehicles, guns, ships, and so on they are always female. So pretty or good looking or other gender neutral terms. Or even sexy. Are fine but calling a car hot doesn't sound quite right to me. Anyway id say porsches are the best looking cars regardless

CockatooDude yep that one really is very emotional but still I don't think they can reach Clarkson's best level! After seeing the Zonda R and the P1 I don't think anything can become that good

This reminds me 458 Speciales Side slide angle stability control. Is kind of a stability control that allows the car to drift until it reach a certain angle then traction control kicks in to increase turn out acceleration. Brilliant idea!

When i heard that the 488 was to replace the 458 and it would not have a N/A V8 it genuinely brought me to tears. There will never be a replacement for this car. It was balls out, beautiful, and truly beautiful

Fantastic the 458 Italia!!! Motor: V8 Top speed: 325 km/h Aceleration 0 - 100 km/h: 3,4 sec. Power: 562 bhp

i like the porche better, but this is by far my favorite top gear video. The way the 458 was shot to be an absolute beauty (which it of course is), its driving capacities, the music, the pure joy of clarkson as he drives the car is combined beautifully

On an old TopGear magazine in 2008 or so i once read a column of James May who was very annoyed about car makers bringing out newer improved versions too soon and in too short periods of time instead of making them perfect immediatly

I agree, I think it's nicer looking. They're both good looking, but the f458 has a pinched, duck-beaky front end by comparison, and it's just not as elegant from that angle. It has a nicer back end than the f430, but overall the f430 is just more beautiful.

Have to agree with you, I'd rather have a 430 Scuderia too, there's something in the look of the 458 and the Speciale that seems just odd and inelegant. Don't care about being a little bit slower than 458 anyway

The Ferarri 'La Ferrari' is five times the price of the Ferarri 458. I can't get my head around that. 'La Ferarri' is a hell of a car, but not five times better than the 458. Really!

This was by far...... The best top gear review of all times ... I don't get tired of seeing over and over again ... So sad now top gear is gone but for all of us they left us quite good memories

reminds me when I had possibility to drive Ferrari Scuderia F430 :) 20 best minutes of my life ever and breaking my speed record back then 150km/h (these days personal record is 175km/h done with different type of car) but when you drive once Ferrari.. its thing you never forget in your life. It made me thank Enzo Ferrari even more for giving us such legend like Ferrari is.

Probably the best Top Gear car review. Simply iconic.

Every now and then I must come back and watch this video. Addictive and gives me chills looking at it and hearing it. What a car.

Every time I watch this video (which is a lot) I always get goosebumps at 3:00 and turn the volume waaay up.. This review is just so god damn excellent.I hope they will still do car reviews on The Grand Tour.

I remember hearing a 458 start for the first time. What a sound! One of the prettiest cars I’ve ever seen.

So James' car at 0:01 is YN55 NEO ... the one the Stig gets into at 0:44 is RX55 FTZ. Strange?!

no, when the race begins the plate is YN55 NEO as they're accelerating

Fabio da costa Yes I noticed that. I reckon the NEO plate is the false one ... it looks like it was just made ... whereas the FTZ looks older and is probably James's real number, which they let slip at that one moment at 0.44. That's my take on it anyway :-)

Mehh who knows but I read in the lower comments somewhere on where as James made a mistake, people were saying that but now I doubt it because the plate is at the front and back and its a different color so he couldn't have made a mistake but who knows they might of just switched the plates and not the car but who knows

Absolutly, the most briliant car ever made

I was in middle school when this car came out and honestly I knew nothing about cars at all but for some inexplicable reason I literally fell madly in love with this car and it ignited my obsession with cars. Not too long after I fell for the Alfa Giulia. I now own a Giulia so that only leaves the 458 on my bucket list.

i saw the 458 speciale at the ferrari museum in maranello and it's even better!!!that's an incredible car!

Jeremy was right: This is one of the all time greats. Took me 10 years to fully understand
