2 things about the gangs decisions this episode are absolutely insane: 1) They didn’t ask to see what’s actually INSIDE the vault 2) They think they might have killed the prince, and yet they still signed a contract to help save him.

Yes! I think it was in Damien's interview on The Character Sheet where he said we'd learn this episode why Delores's spells are things like farts. I was *not* expecting the reason to be so incredibly heartfelt and profound. Absolutely stunning character work / reveal.

From lore and backstory to just comedic dialogoues, this episode is the best yet. Damien’s misdirect with the wolf got me laughing in the train. Fernie’s responses are just gold. Koda and Dolores’ backstories are heartbreaking. And I’m invested in Bug’s road to heroism. Thank you Smosh for bringing this series. ❤❤❤

When Damien just whispers to Chanse "I'm scared" I actually welled up with tears, that scene was so good.

This episode REALLY elevated this series from something fun and campy to something truly special. Impeccable work by both Damien and the cast.

Damien being 100% in character as Gaspard is phenomenal. I don't know how he does it, the other guys get to flesh out their characters as they play but he owns it every single time he takes a new role. It really speaks to his skill as a performer!

we honestly need a back to back 3 hour special. sword af is addicting as heck.

Amanda and Chance killed it with the backstories. So great to explore more about the characters they’re portraying. And of course Shayne and Angela brought it home with the lighthearted comedy. Big shout out to Damien too.

I can't believe I just went from tearing up to Dolores and Koda's stories, to absolutely bursting with laughter at Fernie and Bug playing patty cake. Well freaking done, everyone!

Holy shit. Koda and Delores’s backstorys are incredible and so sad. The story telling really makes it feel like your there 😭

I started to tearing up over Dolores’s and Koda’s backstories. I really hope Dolores finds her family and Koda finds the person from the arena. I went from crying at those to laughing so hard at Bug and Fernie. Hilarious duo.

Damien's Mourosel voice gave me literal chills - he truly is an amazing voice actor. Also this was a fantastic episode, and I cannot wait for the ones to come!

Can we all just appreciate that even though this is Damiens first time being DM that he is killing it. The way he describes everything with the perfect amount of detail and comedy. Job well done

Every time damien changes characters, I get chills. The voices, the personalities, the mannerisms, all so incredible. He is truly talented

The easter egg "as long as none of you are allergic to cats" for everyone who watched betrayal legacy was so awesome! Also the versatility in how both of the backstories were told was awesome.

Adding the little mechanical actuation noises at 14:30 when Fernie is clapping for Bug is just so,, *chef's kiss*

Guys... WHAT AN AMAZING EPISODE. I cried for both Dolores and Koda. Chanse's interpretation of a scared, young, misguided elf was sensational. I got goosebumps at 'Manda's change in voice as we see her desperation. Dai's an amazing story teller. Just.. Come and narrate my life, pls. Bug and Fernie - two cinnamon rolls I wanna snuggle between, ngl. Honestly, blown away. What a life. Love it.

The way Shayne got a blanket during the backstories was literally so adorable. He was probably cold, but it gave "yay story time, let me get comfy" 😭😂 It also matched Fernie's big himbo energy.

Such an incredible episode, Delores and Koda's backstories made my heart hurt and pattycake bit cracked me up right after. Damien is such an amazing DM and it's just his first campaign.

I like how Damien runs this campaign. For one, it is RP heavy, which is my preferred campaign type, and it has well-thought-out lore and transformative changes on the stories that influenced it, which I really enjoy as a player (and a viewer). It makes a lot of sense, given the cast are professional sketch and improv actors, but in the same vein, it is easy to let RP get out of hand and waste a lot of time. Balancing your players' creativity with a fluid tempo that also gives the DM the time they need to give ample lore even when players don't know it is time to stop for exposition is not as simple as it sounds. An example is when the quest giver tries to tell them about the area's background as a preface to the quest, and the party tells him to go away while they talk about pretty trivial things. Damien entertained them, but he added minor quips that, even if they aren't aware of it consciously, help remind them that this is not a four-person game; it is a five-person game. DMs are often forgotten; in fact, even my DM often forgets to include himself when talking about how many people we have in a session, and for me, it is important that they include themselves because their enjoyment is no less important than ours. Sometimes, the players need to realize that the NPCs are how the DM gets to play and give them their turn. Damien didn't tell them to shut up and let him talk, but he did remind them that he is there and he has things to say. I also appreciate that he stops to ask his players what they want to do. It's subtle, but it helps keep things on track. It redirects the party's attention by letting the players know that this is a point where they need to make a decision. Without that cue, players have to guess what is expected of them in that situation. It is an excellent way to push a party (especially for new players) to progress without keeping them on rails. You'd be surprised how many DMs will wait for the party to pick up on the fact that they need to take action while their party either keeps talking about random things or waits in silence for the DM to do something.

49:10 This moment is even better when you remember that Fernie has to get on the ground to kneel down cause he's so tall and Bug is so smol hahaha

This might be my favourite series on KZread. The story and delivery has been amazing by Damien (I wish I could listen to audio books read by Damien) and the cast of players have thrown themselves right into their characters that also brings it to another level.

Wow Delores backstory just breaks my heart. They had to have discussed beforehand. God damiens voice is so creepy (like the villain on Danny.exe but scary )

Didn't expect to be crying during this episode, such well incorporated backstories for Delores and Koda. And also that moment they had together was a great way for them to connect.

I have a feeling the “you can have everything in the vault” vault is empty 😂 Loving this series! ~✨🐀✌🏻💜

Koda gaslighting Bug at the end was perfect. man poor Bug he's trying so hard

DELORES BACKSTORY!! KODA BACKSTORY!!!! I love that Damien spends time letting each character shine intentionally. This is his first time DMing and I am EXTREMELY impressed. I can tell they are all settling into their roles and getting comfy in their characters. From the first episode to this one- especially Damien- has gotten so much stronger as a DM. And you can tell Chanse has for sure played before. He’s very confident. But watching Angela and Amanda light up with the improv and Shayne just getting there- but he’s not in deep yet.

OMFG this was AMAZING! The acting of everyone, the ambience, Fernie and Bug being there as comedic relief after Koda's and Dolores' moments of heartbreak... I am so invested 🤣

This episode felt like that second season of an animated show where they really start to introduce the lore of the series. Loved it.

You can see how immersed Amanda is in the story 29:30. This show is sow good.

This series has been my absolute favorite. Everything about this is perfect. Damien has created such an enchanting and intricate world filled with fun characters. And Shayne, Amanda, Chanse, and Angela knocked it out of the park with creating and bringing to life characters that I don’t want to stop watching. I NEED MORE!! Congrats to everyone involved in this!

Damien’s story telling skills are amazing!!! Every word and action was so delicately executed I had chills at times… love this series so much and I can’t wait for the next episode!!!

I love the subtle use of sound effects in these episodes. "You are in an arena." *cheers* I got shivers!

Damien is such an amazing story teller. He is soooo good at keeping this story amazing and rolling smoothly. Love Fernie and bug going stupid and I got chills during both Deloris and koda stories!

I loved the fact that everyone were so immersed in their storylines and characters. I could literally feel Chanse's sadness through the screen. Well done everyone. And I'm proud of you Damien ❤
