@@verified_tinker1818 Perhaps Lügner demoted his life to improve his own magic and study others, but he mainly focused on improving his own. After all he has too much pride to use others while his own is "perfect". Meanwhile, not only did Fern learn way more different magic from Frieren but she perfected to match her style. She doesn't focus on expending alot of magic in one spell, but small and fast casts with the most effectivity (not strong nor big, but the best combination of both), Truly a disciple of Frieren the Slayer.

I definitely don’t see Fern as a jack of all trades character. It’s clear she favors a certain style of magic for combat. Increased knowledge of other spells doesn’t mean she uses them much at all.

That look of disrespect, she's the spitting image of her master.

She didn't walk, she sashayed out of the way of the attacks. And to think that they were both afraid to face Lugner and Linie only for both of them to casually show them how weak both the demons were with Fern being a dex mage build and Stark being a full vit tank build.

@@ramonlacandola7328 Rather Fern deliberately makes herself look weak as taught by Frieren. Concealing one's power allows the weak to defeat the strong. Stark is a coward by nature until he gets into a serious fight. Both demons look down on them too much and focus only on Frieren.

beautifully choreographed fights where nobody is screaming their face off to a generic hype fight ost, it was all around gorgeous, its like they directed it the way you would a piano recital where the actions only interrupted briefly to portray how the musics affecting the characters before winding up again

Don't let the badass music distract you from the fact Fern was practically fighting one-handed after getting hit hard in the shoulder. Her grip on her staff was very light with her off-hand, and later in the scene she's holding it one handed, bracing against her forearm And of course, she was hiding her mana the whole time This isn't Fern at her best, not by far

oh my lord... I'm just so speechless whenever I rewatch episode 9. The flute and that animation will always be one of the best scenes in any anime this year. I hope they could still deliver such good direction when Magic Exams starts

Every OST in this anime is always matched with the scene and epic orchestra

This soundtrack got me to watch frieren and seeing the context now makes this even more of a banger.

Frieren is like super super good and the production circumstances of the anime only heightened its value. I had goosebumps during the fight, it had everything: it let the audience breathe between each movement, an incredibly executed fanservice, and this OST... Incredible. If one day Spirit Circle would get an adaptation, i'm praying it will get the same circumstances as Frieren too.

From the reaction of the demons I think fern has a distorted view of what counts as “basic magic”. Her master is implied to be the strongest magic user alive, at least when it comes to killing demons. That’s kinda like someone having Mike Tyson as their only sparring partner for your whole boxing career and trusting their estimation of what they consider a “strong punch”

She was practicing so hard on just one, just to reach that stone. And she tried to rush it as quickly as possible because she needed to achive that before her father figure passed away. I guess that's why she's so used to spamming magic attacks.

This made me cry, the sheer emotion behind it and the mastery to express it.

That moment when she finally used Zoltraak instead of just normal blasts. So good! I don't understand how anyone could possibly hate Fern.

These tracks seem so tailormade for the anime it's amazing. You can imagine exactly what is going on when you hear each and every single part of the song.

I love this anime with all my heart, I didn’t even finish watching the entire season (because it’s not done yet) when I jumped to the manga because I couldn’t wait for season 2 Story telling is amazing, world building even more so. Characters are each individually interesting and even side characters have intriguing and engaging back stories. I love fantasy and adventure anime, Frieren truly is a master piece

I feel in love with this anime the moment the trailer dropped. I got all the manga up to that point and fell in love with the story, the characters the setting. All top tier. The anime does the manga justice.
