Serina is still making music. After Fern planet broke up, she cut her hair, reinvented herself and now performs under the name Otoha. Do a search, thats her. She released an EP last April. How long her latest act will last is anyones guess, as she seems to be constantly evolving, and doesn't care if fans follow.

The original band is from Nara, Japan: Rick Rack. Which morphed into Elfin Planet and then Fern Planet. Serina, now performs under 音羽-otoha. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dGZ72MSjZdu6icY.html And here. Playing some fine guitar - for maker SAGO: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iHuXprxqhZO3kqg.html

Oh wow thats great info, thank you so much! Its always nice to see people still making music after a band disolves! Nara is a great place in Japan, one of my favorite places to visit. Its super relaxo.

Yeah this was actually really really good. I really enjoyed them, ill check out more for sure. I think it said they disbanded which is unfortunate. Oh I know all about TeddyLoid and Daoko! Teddy Loid has such BANGER beats. ダイスキ (Daisuki) with Daoko is an aboslute BANGER of a song. Daoko has some great songs like Girl etc. TeddyLoid X Daoko ME!ME!ME! Nice to talk to someone that can appreciate TeddyLoid and Daoko! I watch streams from club MOGRA in Japan (Anime club in Akiba - They main do anime and video game remixes) they often do big parties for halloween, new years, christmas, etc. TeddyLoid has played there a few times. Cant wait to be back at MOGRA hopefully near the end of this year! :)

Awesome Brother! They're like 3 bands. Depending on the line up. Can't remember the names of the other band names? Dig a little deeper you'll find out. No matter what name or line up. All awesome! It just shows the depth of Japanese girl band's. They should be a lot better known. It's like trying to get noticed in London in 68. Best rock on the planet! Thanks Brother!😊😎🤘🤘

Ill have to look more into the members. Last I saw on this was FERN PLANET split up late 2019 which is unfortunate. This 3 piece right here has a really good sound.

@@Shreddawg yeah. I saw a video on another channel. The guy had his list of top 5 Japanese bands. Maids was#1. This band was on the list by its current name with 2 of 3 members in Fern. I can't remember. I watch a ton of videos.

Rick Rack -> Elfen Planet -> Fern Planet. Each incarnation released one EP (they basically changed drummers with each line up. Fern Planet went with just studio drummer). Guitarist Serina was considered a bit of a prodigy when she formed Rick Rack at 16, but she's left the music scene since Fern Planet broke up.

As others have said, Fern Planet were technically the same sound as Elfin Planet (when they had a female drummer) and both Serina (guitar/vocals) and Meiko Yamaguchi (bassist/b.vocals) previously played together as part of cult band Rick Rack when they were still in high school (Soldier Girls is actually a rework of a Rick Rack fan favourite). They only released two mini albums and a single as Fern Planet over the two years they were active. Serina has pretty much disappeared off all western accessible social media since she disbanded the group, Meiko played with their last touring drummer's band and did other support & sessions work for a while, but she's now the permanent bassist in Dizzy Sunfist after touring with them as a support member for a good half a year or so first.

Thank you for all the detailed information! I really enjoyed the sound this band had. I still want to check out their other songs even if they are disbanded. Dizzy Sunfist is actually really cool so that is awesome!

ooooo, yes, I agree, beautiful vocals!! really good, structured composition, with all the instrumentals playing pretty damn good and non stop, the bass I kept expecting to overheat. The use of good old fashioned off beat kicks added to the song very nicely. The sequence starting at 4:10 thro guitar solo, WOW! and the guitar solo itself: resonant and digs in! A really nice key shift also > 6:27. These guy really are really GOOD I feel! good organized structure behind the song, played with energy very well! You say Groove I add ROCK. I am keeping this around for a good jam tune! I hope the artists find their way into new groups, they are TOO talented not to.
