I've done an arts degree, you get nude models for life drawing and everything and I think it's very context based. Having someone stand in front of you naked while you draw them, after a while, not weird. Standing behind them at the cafe afterwards, that's weird.

I've been to a nudist camp with my wife, and we had a blast. I guess it's an eye of the beholder thing, but there's a pretty solid difference in my mind between sexual nudity and other kinds of nudity, and it was definitely not sexual for me. It didn't feel weird or kinky or anything; it felt honest and welcoming. And it was really cool being so accepted by what amounted to a group of strangers. I don't think I'd start advocating it for everyone else. I get that it's not for everyone. But I'd do it again anytime, and if you're considering it, give it a try.

"If everyone's naked, no one's naked"... philosophically it's true, because it removes the special / scandalous status of nudity. It's similar to the phrase on Homosexuality in ancient times... "Everyone's gay, so no one's gay". Every man has a male lover (Achilles had Patroclos, Alexander had Hephaestion, Hercules had Philoctetes, etc., etc.), so there is nothing "different" or gay about it.

OK, I'm a bit pissed off with the thumbnail link to this video. Yes, Fern was an "exotic dancer" for three years. I'm sure she got up to all sorts of shit doing that. BUT... Her story here is NOT about being naked doing a gig. Its about the audience being naked, when she was not. Click bait, and degrading to the person you are "promoting". If you watch the show she is actually very slow to talk about what happened... to her. Whilst the content of this video is good.. How about we remove "NAKED" and so on? The woman has history, so what? But this story does not even tap on that. Its about doing a gig to a load of nudists, whilst fully dressed. A very missleading link, which only harms her.

As a naturist I'm somewhat shocked that this bar doesn't require nude patrons to bring a towel or similar to sit on for hygienic purposes. That is absolutely required in any naturist context I've ever been in. In my experience it's not so much "when everyone's naked no-one is," so much as "the moment you truly accept in your head that this is not a sexual situation, the 'ewwww' feeling immediately evaporates."

@@alfsmith4936 It's mostly religious conservatives nowadays. But also think about how a large part of the founding culture of the U.S. came from Puritanical (obviously also religious) influences. Lots of laws and some aspects of media censorship are also based on religious values. I'd say there are still a good number of Americans who are repressed in various ways and proud to stay that way.

That's fine too i guess But another thing is that I grew up in so.Indiana and what about mosquitoes biting your testicles? It's bad enough having huge welps all the way up your arms and down your legs but if you are vigorously scratching the bug bite on your balls people are going to get the wrong idea and you'll be arrested.

I just gotta say I am totally comfortable with my pets never being clothed but I'm still appalled and disgusted by a lipstick fully extended. Nudity no matter how normalized will never be fully something some people are comfortable with. Not everyone can be a nudist nor do they have to feel bad for that. I'm pretty sure I've seen videos titled this way multiple times now but they still trick me as my pig brain immediately thinks "Ooo can I find naked pictures of her? I must investigate further so that my search has more clues to work upon." Just information about her as a stripper but not a lotta photos of strippers at work online. For numerous obvious reasons.

I don't know who the black woman is but... I don't think I've ever known a man be confused by a woman being funny. Though, I do know a lot of men who don't mind saying "I don't find *insert name* funny." about specific comedians but, they'll say it about men too. Seem a little like she might have a chip on her shoulder. Love Fern though. Genuinely funny, charming, and naturally off beat in a way that reminds me of a less surreal Bob Mortimer.

@@Arikayx13 Lots of people say things in comment sections because they know it will get ridiculous reactions from people who can't just roll their eyes and keep scrolling. I'm certain there are men who think women aren't funny. I'd imagine there are also women who would say the same. Just as I know there are men and women who would say men aren't funny, and they are all entitled to their opinions, and a lot of it is based on what they've been presented with. If the only female comedians I'd seen were Sue Perkins, Sandi Toksvig and Catherine Tate, I'd probably come to the conclusion that women weren't funny, just like I'd feel the same way about men if all I saw was Russell Howard, Josh Widdecombe, and Michael McIntyre. I find some women funny and I find some men funny. There are also lots of women and men I don't find funny, and I think if people were really honest, they'd say the same.

Of course on social media I've seen people be obnoxious to any group, and female comedians get a lot of it. Sometimes the criticisms aren't even relevant to the material in the clip, and I have to wonder if they clicked the video purely to complain. But back to the topic here, that woman was saying men are aroused by comedy but refuse to admit it. Which is a really weird claim. First because she says it like it's a big number of people, which I doubt. And second, toxic people have no problem committing to that attitude. So I think she was leaping to conclusions to complain about men who complain about her. Which just fuels the ongoing cycle. Don't stereotype, which also means don't stereotype the people you think are doing it.
