In 1959, I started learning guitar on my brother's electric archtop Harmony. He traded that for a 1960 Jazzmaster, which I jumped on with both big feet. Christmas of 1963, my just-divorced and BROKE, father, gave me my very first guitar ... a 1954 Stratocaster. I too, have one of these wonderful silverfaced Deluxe Reverbs (a 1977). I put in a blackface-sized OT and made a few other changes, but that amp is INCREDIBLE! Just like this one. I must say, whatever reverb this gentleman is running through, is quite spectacular!

Bitte Weiter so! mfG Ulf Philipowski

Had a 1994 Reissue of a ‘54 Strat. A Limited Edition model. One of 1994 made of them. I had put a set of Van Zandt True Vintage pickups in it. At the time I was playing it though a ‘69 Dlx Rvb with a Jensen Alnico spkr. I’ll be darned if it didn’t sound like this one here. Only one thing, I certainly didn’t have the skills that Tobias here has presented. The only guitar I ever regreted selling 😢

"All the guitar's a stage, the playing's the thing"- William Stratospeare 🤗 Not all oldie strats are comparably good AS instruments of music. Strikingly beautiful? To me yes, all of them in whatever condition today. Today a fair (unfair?) number of comparative then-junk duds AS INSTRUMENTS OF MUSIC, are now sold as " Vintage Mint, kept in a closet for decades!"...and they ain't lyin'!🙄 My 66 year-old lifetime collector of Stratopinions thought? Wonderful guitar. Wonderful artistry. Thank you SO much.

The guitar sounds absolutely wonderful. But the thing I have to wonder about is just how much tat gorgeous tone, and especially the crystalline top end, would have been audible with the state of amplifiers, and especially speakers, in 1954. Maybe Leo et al. would have been in a position to hear it, during development, but what of the typical purchaser of a Strat? Would their likely rig have been able to frame the sound of the instrument so beautifully? I don't know one way or the other, but we ARE hearing this guitar under conceivably the most favorable conditions.

Surely the guitarist and the guitar, together with the amplifier, make the difference, but I would like to know how you can record the guitar so well and naturally live with this approach. My experience is always dignified but not satisfying. Shure SM57, SeV7 etc ... Digi 002, Mac always give me a dark, dull result. The plugins are much more convincing. Can you suggest me what your recovery is n' how can it be so beautiful? Thank you 😀
