I have 4 squier basses all with Audere preamp. They make those basses sound amazing. I strongly recommend them. Everywhere I play both the fans and musicians ask me how a Squier sounds so big full punchy clean.

Hi Mr. Bully, I bought a Player Jazz Bass May 2022. Then a few months later they released an active version. Too much of a loss to trade it. I saw this video and took a chance. This preamp is a game changer. Breathed new life into the instrument. Anyone with a jazz bass that needs something extra should definitely try this. I'm not good with electronics but the install was easy the tech charged $30 dollars. This is worth ever penny.......Good Job!!!!!!!!!!

I built a J bass from parts and put an Audere pre with 3 stacked knobs along with the Hot Lips lipstick tube pups you demo in a previous video. It sounds great.

Love the simplicity of this preamp and this great review. I I would have to figure out how to configure my battery wires so they extend into the battery compartment. I can’t phantom having to take the control plate off for a battery change.

I want to add that preamp to my Ibanez tmb100 but the tmb100 isn’t a jazz bass it’s a p/j bass, the control plates don’t match up. I still want to do it just not sure how to achieve it yet. Any suggestions are appreciated!!!!

I bought a 2nd hand SX fretless 5 string conversion - with the white nylon coated strings. £130 - absolute steal. Nut is not cut right but plays fine. Shielded it and fixed bridge wire (made a YT on how I did it). I loved it so much that I got another 4 string SX fretted - I almost got the Squier but having played both I loved the feel and look of SX JB75 better. Made some YT of those too. I am.thinking of getting one of these preamps. There again I also just added a Zoom B1 Four X and I can plug any bass into that. Still let's see how much those preamps cost in UK.

Is that preamp available on Amazon? I have that bass but In natural wood finish. I just wish it sounded that good!

I like to disconnect each wire and connect it to the new preamp before disconnecting the next wire and so on so I don’t lose track of what goes where. Of course I make exceptions when you need to connect three separate grounds at once, but I’m sure you see the point of this approach.

Where did you get your pick guard? I have a white squire J bass and would love to have that same pick guard you have.

I bought a squire 5 string from Spitzers music they were going out of business that black 5 string cost me $125.00 with no tax I went to guitar center and bought a case I called David the owner of Audere Audio I bought a 4 band EQ Preamp with the Z mode switch 15 years ago I really like it plus it has an indicator light when the battery is low the light is purple 🟣 I use lasting power 9 volt batteries I got sick 4 years ago left a battery in my Ibanez fanfret 5 string the battery was still at 70% as long as you unplug your bass these batteries are excellent 4 9 volt batteries with the charger for $24 from Amazon I don't use alkaline they'll leak and corrode LP is all I Use..

Amazing....people will spend $100+ more for Aguilar saying Audere is too "polite". Man shoot....that Audere is sweet to me! I got one on the way for my knockoff PJ. Im getting the 4band classic too. It won't be the plate version but I did manage to get Audere on the phone and they're gonna wire in the crimp harness for me so my install will be completely solderless as well 👌🏾👌🏾

Pickguard.... thus preamp has a notch where it can lay flat in the cavity

Bully you have such fine tone that your dont need one of these preamps - so thanks for demo for those of us who do :-) Sounds awesome and really great to see the looks on your face as you explored the tones. Thanks for sharing. Not sure what the bass 2 - 3rd from left of picture is ... Light green? It looks amazing.

Very few pickups are actually active themselves. Most active basses are active EQ

They might be the DR neon bass strings, I know they come in green and other colours. You can find them on amazon if that’s what they are :)

Never ever buying one of these again! The problem with these things is if you handle them to much the wiring from the board to the jack comes apart and it's impossible to re-connect. Twice this happenend and that black shielding on the back of the board you won't get off ,you can forget about it.
