Over 500 hours on fallout and skyrim. Male character a few arnold swarchanager mods. Female characters over 100 mods.

100% accurate. I would spend probably around an hour trying to sculpt the perfect female character - then even longer trying to match a decent looking outfit that complements the feminine silhouette. ... With guys: add facial hair, change hair, go.

Worst/best part is that I just need to throw some stubble on default "Nate" and he's basically Mad Max once he's in a leather outfit. Done, looks great, can't complain, anything else would be too much effort. Three hours later on female chargen: I just don't like the angle of my nose, it looks weird if seen from the POV of someone sniping at me from the high up in the south-east on a foggy tuesday.

Real. For males it takes me like 5-20 mins but for females it takes like 10-40 mins if not longer 😭

You spent more time customising the corpse in Fallout 4 than I usually do lol

Don't forget it takes bout an hour before your even done until the game crashes and u rage out 😂

The only reason for choosing male character on the creation screen: being able to check out female character from the side at 1:04.

Most mods I ever did for a male Fallout 4 character was a John Wick run; Keanu preset and a retexture for one of the suits to make it all black, John's gun from the first movie, and a voice synth mod that changed the pitch of the male to make it a bit deeper and end up basically full Keanu. Meanwhile, secondary mod organizer profile, 100+ mods could be left disabled since I wasn't playing female. For Skyrim, Beards mod, and that's it. Maybe a body retexture, but probably not. Slap on an appropriate Conan outfit and there we go. If mods from "the Lab" was in the equation, add a certain Schlong-related mod, and there we go. Female? 300+ separate mods, several of them for specific types, like muscle maps for my barbarians, or tons of jewelry and dresses for my mages. Half the time modding Skyrim I felt like I was setting up Barbie's Dream Castle or something... And I don't even know how that haappened, lol.

Classic character creation moves Female character: ALL the mods till custom gaming PC crashes Male character: Yeah any of the presets will do 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

For me its either default nate(maybe with a few blemishes removed here and there), any other preset imma spend hours tweaking the design cause the rest look kinda mid

Do one for cyberpunk

With cyberpunk 2077 with the female V I had to look up tutorials to get the most beautiful V and then massacred night city trying to find the perfect outfit for her

You seriously should work for someone with this amount of skill in character designing.

10 mins into the game you put full body armor, and you will see what you spend hours on only in few cutscens and in invectory while changing equipment. But damn how could I skip it :D

You mean, 10 minutes into the game you find a mask so that you can cover up your male character's face so you don't have to look at them in cutscenes.

You left out the part where you saved it as a preset, with the name "Goth_Mommy_Dommy_14"

I used to do this when i created a male character, or trying to create a more manly character Nowdays me want to try to create a younful male like Tom Holland, Young DiCarpio or Robert Pattinson. Or a Twink character like Cloud, Link and 9S (Even if i always put a mask or a full covered helmet tho)

This is hilarious. It takes me an hour 30 minutes to make Nora. But when I choose Nate I just take the second preset I'm going to put a mask on him anyway

Idk, I spend a lot of time with hair and facial hair with male characters still, and if I have individual sliders I'll spend some time making him just the right amount of muscular.

I almost hate admitting how real this is

As a guy, when I play female characters I’ll be customizing every painstaking detail trying to make them look perfect, then when I play a male character I might just add a beard or something and press accept 🤣

Look at Monster Hunter World for a good example of female and male character creations. You don’t even need mods to look like a chiseled or thicc demigod.

I take my time on females in character creations to make sure she’s unique and perfect the way I want her but when it comes to a male, I hardly care😅

Try spending hours at a time over X number of days doing this in vanilla Fallout 4, praying your game doesn't crash or close when you turn off your console to do other stuff - oh, and for _both_ characters!

I dont know what it is but its like we get that weird urge to make the most drop dead gorgeous female character possible but for males we just say "ehh good enough"

Are you guys saying that I'm the only one who (Not only in FO4) creates a somewhat handsome female character in like 10 minutes, but needs at least an hour until a male character stops looking like a potato?

Takes me minimum an hour to make my male character to look right too, unfortunately shaun still has the same old ass man face after my hard work of trying to make both his mom and dad attractive

For me it's the opposite. I just give Nora max amount os muscles and she is ready to go

fallout 4 custmization is a pain to use without mods. i just like evrything orgnized

The real problem for me is that NEITHER or presets look ok. Not male, not female. Mod don't help either. I prefer the options in Dragon Age and Mass Effect in terms of looks than Fallout games. Fallout 4 is slightly better than 3 and Vegas. But just slightly. Those two were just a thing of horror. And this new thing with sculpting the face? With that aweful lighting? Meh... I usually end up downloading some face preset from Nexus. At least those I can see beforehand.
