Was pretty cool that the main guy sent the main female undercover at his restaurant. I wished the guy would tell the lady what is going on instead of being soo mean to her. I have a feeling that the lady would help him more if she knew what was actually going on.

Because of what the lady saying about the ex being obsessive, I have a feeling she change the recipes on purpose to got his attention and probably hoping he will go back to working at the restaurant

As a retired restaurant owner and chef, I understand his rigidity to his standards, but what I disagree with; his rigidity is mired in a cruel arrogance and disregard for 'respect'. Respect for the very individual pallet of his, hopefully, discerning patrons, his staff, and anyone attempting to help him in any way (seriously, he hired her right???). It's one thing to act a tyrant, but to put into actions AND words? YIKES! In spite of his taste buds going whacky, he has embraced his fear by acting the ego maniacal tyrant in the way he treats people and I just wanna smack him upside his inflated head.

I agree, the character is representing the cynical egoistic artist. Whichever art form they choose, they choose to be highly controlling and abusive towards their colleagues and apprentices alike. Why?

ohh god yes, this guy has no respect for pretty much anyone in the entire show, he disrespects the woman who helped fund his restaurant, his ex, his new protégé, his rival, his doctor, pretty much everyone he talks to. while its probably possible to be a good chef without taste as long as you had it at one point, and can understand it, and if you have someone like her to do the tasting for you, i see no way you could be a Michelin star chef, the little things matter, and deciding to leave sweet out of your dishes just makes it not possible, i mean food is a balance, removing sweet from foods would make them unpalatable, especially in the styles of food he makes. i wanted to watch this show, but i had to drop it, because he was way to far over the line with his need for control. i had other issues with it, but as the ML he was just unlikable.

Bc it was the last journal entry of his adopted father/teacher who taught him, montgomery said he hated sugar but the rest of the page was ripped off

Can someone please explain why he hates sweet ? I watched the drama but didn't understand or you can say I don't remember. Please satisfy my curiosity 😅😊

His condition of losing his sense of taste started with sugar. So he hates sweets. Eventually he regained his sense of taste with sugar only while her apprentice lost her sensitivity to sweets. Hope that satisfies your curiosity :)
