    I wasn’t going to do this, but hubby saw the pattern and asked if I could make him a pair. So I ran to JoAnns and bought enough to make two pairs in opposite colors. Sat down after an early supper to get started and discovered that the yarn was not 100% wool. Ran back to the store...it was closed. Went to Freddie’s...they don’t carry yarn any more. Went to Wal-Mart...they only had acrylic. So I bought me some pajamas. Will stop at Joanns after work tomorrow. Darn you Jana!

    Excellent tutorial ... wonderful job clearly showing the stitches and how they are worked. I made this pattern a few years ago but need to get back on the horse and make a pair for a Christmas gift and to also replace the ones I wore out (you are a great inspiration!) I wear them all the time and although they have been darned a few times it's time to treat myself to a new pair for this winter. Happy to have found you and looking forward to following along with this series and the other projects you've done.

    Thank you, Jana. I found your channel last week when I was looking for sock cast-on tutorials. Your tutorials are very clear and thorough, so I am happy to support your Patreon. Facebook and Ravelry do not meet my personal ethical standards, so I won't be joining your groups on either website, but I believe your tutorial videos will be enough for me to understand. Thanks for the yarn recommendations! Yarn for my 1st pair arrives next week!

    @x Since Ravelry changed their website design earlier this year, many people have been experiencing eye strain, all day migraines & even seizures after a few minutes on the site. Instead of apologizing to the affected users and designers, or calling in web designers that specialize in accessibility, the Ravelry team has instead been gaslighting anyone who has been harmed and continues to actively silence anyone who tries to speak out about accessibility on their platform. Emails to the team go unanswered. A survey about accessibility could not be taken by people affected because it also induced migraines & seizures. On other platforms, the Ravelry team has vilified an affected designer they had previously promoted. They cited blog posts by a psychologist claiming that people were experiencing "mass hysteria" but never considered the opinions of the medical professionals examining the people who were sent to ERs when NuRav was first rolled out. Many fiber artists and designers who relied on Ravelry to market and sell their products have been cut off from their main income stream -- in the middle of the pandemic. It has been almost 6 months. It is clear that the Ravelry team does not care. The behavior of the Ravelry team regarding this issue is sociopathic, and I refuse to support any company that lacks a conscience.

    Hi Jana! I am so excited to get started on this KAL! All of my materials are ready, but I have a question, please help: I'm wanting to make size 11.5 - 12 men's slippers - should I use the size 11 directions and felt them less, or the size 13 instructions and felt more? My pre-felted gauge on size 15 needles is about 11 sts/4 in I am very much a newbie and thank you so much in advance for your help with this! -Jazmin

    Jana, question for you (actually, a couple). In the instructions, it says not to use anything except the m1 for increases. I did what you did, and did kfb. I've done this on 4 pairs of clogs so far, and the only time I've had a problem with it was on the one pair that I did the bumper on. The bumper came out really squirrelly. Which increase using a stitch is going to mess with your stitch count? I just don't see how that's possible. An increase any way I think about it is going to add one stitch. I don't know of an increase that adds more than one stitch (not that I know everything), nor an increase that doesn't increase (why call it an increase if you don't gain?). Which increase have you done on the bumper? I haven't been doing any more bumpers after that one came out junky. I'm kind of dyslexic, and m1L and m1R drive me nuts. Kfb is faster and easier. I don't have a problem with the lifted m1 increases though. I'm not sure if kfb is a good idea on the bumper, but that might just be me. Any opinion?

  • @PurlTogether

    @PurlTogether

    3 жыл бұрын

    I use the lifted increases. The only time I used the kfb is on the very first row of the sole, when there isn't anything to lift, since you're on row 1. Hope that makes sense.

  • @sage0925

    @sage0925

    @@PurlTogether Yes, thanks. I've been using kfb throughout, seems to work fine, until you get to the bumper. Then it just makes things goofy. But my question about which increase will mess up your stitch count?
