This is freaking disgusting and pure evil. I hate this so much. The fact that animal experiments are still a real life issue. I wish they showed us the scene where that drunkard monster of a ‘scientist’ got killed by Claudandus. That would make me a whole lot better.

This has to be one of my favourite found footage scenes in a movie. The ending is so chilling because from a first time perspective you think that the Professor is just drunk and losing his sanity thinking that the cat is talking to him but later on in the movie you realise that Claudandus actually spoke to him and he’s just written it off as him being drunk

I'm quite sure this movie was a commentary on such things. We consider it a great crime for people in power to experiment on those beneath them, yet perform equally cruel acts to the even more helpless ones.

Now is it just or does the scientist's voice sounded more like L. Ron Hubbard's voice? CREEPY! O_O

NunyaBusiness The Claudandus Sect can definitely be seen as a religious cult, especially expanded upon so much in the book, so if this was intentional it wouldn’t be surprising at all!

9 was a great movie. If you watch this in full, this film was commentating on animal experiments but also eugenics and such. The original book it is based off of is German I believe, so it's just a parallel to nazi germany.

Well, likely because it portrays something that does unfortunately happen in reality. Animal testing has done all kinds of horrible atrocities.

Why the heck does he keep making the incisions on the head!? Why doesn't he make the cut on a limb? That way, at least the stuff won't eat away to something vital!

Literally scientists do this all the time. How do you think they find out if that new drug is safe for humans to swallow or inject or apply to the skin? How do you think they know if this form of surgery or artificial implant is effective or not? How do you think they observe how certain diseases and disorders affect the body? Your cosmetics work the same way. We don't know if that new shade of lipstick or eye shadow causes itching or rash or chemical burns or poisoning until we stick it on a rabbit and see what happens. It's unfortunate but it happens because most people aren't lining up to try Experimental Drug Cocktail No. 31409, to get their heart replaced by the new and improved Corazón-3000, or to swathe their mouth in the newly discovered chemical compound known as "ultra-red no.484"

Makes me cry everytime...Every existance being, any human, deer or anithing could take torture to some kind of level...but everything gets to a point,...at the end we are so many another painful animals who used his sad lessons...

From a scientific perspective he (the scientist) messed up so many times and for what? These are animals that clearly suffered from a scientists own stupidity. Its hardly ethical and a waist of money.

Couldn’t he just have put them under? I doubt their body would’ve acted differently if they were asleep, and they wouldn’t feel a thing when they died. I‘d suggest using the corpses of recently dead cats, but that might be too big a variable.

Medicine, vaccines, surgical procedures, modeling and observation of disease are all generally dependent on human or animal test subjects. Since most people are not signing up to undergo experimental treatments and procedures (which no sane companies would allow because its probably illegal in early stages) and since forced experiments are also unlawful, well...

Indeed, but it's how the world works unfortunately. Felidae is actually a good movie though, if you can stomach to watch it in full. It's based off a german book, so it uses animal experimentation and a cat devoted to creating essentially the "perfect" breed of cat via serial killings as a comparison to what happened in Nazi Germany.
