The Hybrid Shooter you are correct about the Pocket 2's quality. I won't argue. I think I still use the Fimi a lot because I don't want to mess up my Pocket 2 or I use it in more rugged conditions plus it's less bulky. Not sure why I still love that camera. I like the color pop of the Fimi. The exaggerated colors do something for me. The image of the Fimi is pretty unique. Not many people have it opposed to the Pocket and Pocket 2. I won't argue that the Pocket 2 is a superior camera in almost every regard but I still will reach for my Fimi 8 out of 10 times. Well actually the Insta360 Go2 has slowly crept into the number 1 spot as my go to daily vlogger because of its versatility. The Pocket 2 has been relegated to when I'm more serious about the image quality but it's not my rugged daily shooter.

Great review as always! I would be interested to see what filters are available for this device in the near future.

Thanks for the review. Very fair and balanced. I hope Feiyu sends you a Pocket 2s to review also. It's currently on Indiegogo and looks really interesting. Most of the internals are identical so output should be similar but the gimbal can be separated from the handle (connected by a cable) which should lead to some unique points of view.

Yes, all of them can be charged while using.

Hi, I recently learned that while shooting log on a DSLR you have to shoot at a base iso to get the optimum image quality for example ISO 800 on the eos r5 while shooting cLog3. Does this apply to these pocket cameras too?

No, they don't have different base ISO settings for Log and non-Log settings. "Log" on pocket cameras isn't a real Log profile.

this is what i use in my vlogs for 2 weeks now. if you don't need superb audio, this is for you; otherwise, the audio sucks if you're mouth is half a meter away from it

Nice review. Not bad image quality. It's super wide. Nothing revolutionary about it though. Not compelled to get 1 since I have both DJi pockets and a Fimi Palm but maybe would otherwise.

Yes that is truth, it is a good all-round ultra-wide pocket gimbal, but there aren't really any innovations.

@@tobyr8555 ill get at lot of flack for this but under normal situations I'll reach for the Fimi (when it's working properly) before the other 2. The Pockets are superior cameras but for some reason I prefer using the Fimi when lighting conditions are optimal. I think the Palm let's you shoot easier without worrying about composition and what's in focus being that it shoots in infinite focus like an action camera. In low light I use the Pocket 2.

Check out the Feiyu Pocket 2s on Indiegogo. I know its a crowd fund project rather than an actual preorder but I think Feiyu is pretty reliable when it comes to deliverables.

do you have Fimi palm 1 and/or 2 to compare?

I never use lower image quality settings on any camera, so I can't answer that. It is mostly Bratislava.

It's very confusing that they both are called "Pocket". I bought the DJI Pocket 2 today after I had seen all your videos. I don't know which quality setting in combination with fps is the best to use. Should you go for 25fps with high settings or 60 fps with "battery save" quality?

funny enough i just got on my pc and plugged it in and it can work as a webcam ..

I love my DJI Pocket and I will get the DJI Pocket 2 soon. Sadly the Feiyu Pocket 2 also has a dongle to use a external microphone. Why is it so hard for the creators of these devices to include a 3.5 jack. It is great for connecting a external microphone when you need it. This is also the main reason why I was disappointed by the DJI Pocket 2. The do-it-all handle should be built into the device it self. You do not want to carry around to much extra stuff with these tiny devices. It kind of defeats the purpose with having a small device in the first place. Great review.

Thank you! The point of the these devices is that they have to be compact. 3.5mm jack would significantly increase the size, so I approve of excluding it from the main body. A small adapter / wireless functionality is a good solution IMO.

@@TheHybridShooter yes, that could be the problem. I still wish they would have some sort of special USB-C adapter that you could somehow secure to the device it self. When you use that small adapter if feels like it is going to fall off or break. Some have said that the do-it-all handle does not feel that secure when attached on the Dji Pocket 2. If anything they should work more on these small but vital issues. The Feiyu Pocket 2 looks like it is build like a tank. Your reviews are great that is why I subscribed.

@@dennisolof9994 Do-it-all handle feels like it is an integrated part of Pocket 2, the attachment can't be any more secure. Using that with DJI wireless transmitter is by far the best way to capture external audio.

I don’t think so, to be honest. It is a bit overrated spec if you are publishing SDR. 8-bit is completely fine in this type of camera at the moment IMO.

@@radiozelaza That is just a poor implementation of "Log" in general. Competitors have no issues with 8-bit and flat profiles. I expect that it will be improved by FW updates.

I don't know why people prefer these so wide angle lenses... to me they look so amateur and cheap for film making... however this mini gimbal it is very interesting and looks better than dji pocket 2 ... Is there any choice for digital zoom ?

It is definitely not better than DJI Pocket 2, which also has narrower FoV, so that will be a better choice for you. Digital zoom wouldn't really makes sense on devices such as this one.

At this point, it is like saying that any non-GoPro action camera is a copy of a GoPro. It also shoots completely different type of footage.
