How did they not know who Ambrose Bierce was? He wasn’t at Gettysburg but he wrote famous stories about the civil war. The most famous is probably “ an occurrence at owl creek bridge.” (I guess maybe I shouldn’t expect everyone to know that author!) Edit to add: I love these videos and you do an incredible job. You bring details to life that I had never thought of before in regards of the war. Thank you so much for doing these videos.

Susan, we definitely know who he was. However, as he had no connection to Gettysburg and never visited, we left it out.

Susan, I don't know him either. There are many books published about the Civil War. Maybe, he focuses on specific topics others don't focus on. Where was Owl Creek Bridge? Thank you...

@@whippoorwillholler740 : I don't know where the Owl Creek Bridge is, but Ambrose Beirce wrote fiction based on fact, but he imagines how the soldier executed on the bridge might imagine his own death . He describes battle as an experience that gives us an idea what war at that time was like. He is also well known for writing The Devil's Dictionary.

Hi William, it's Darlene using my main channel. Just left a comment on your other Gettysburg video about the cut away. Hope you'll continue to do these Gettysburg videos. To me, they're very interesting & informative. This area is adjacent to the Rose Woods I commented about. William, you mentioned Allen. It's also a name I felt. Young males voice = Allen. Were you ever able to find out anything about "Allen"?
