Feeding our future: Innovations in food sustainability | The University of British Columbia

How can we ensure affordable, healthy food for all? Innovation is key. UBC’s Dr. Rickey Yada shows how innovation can help our food systems become more sustainable and ensure local food security. The Dean of UBC’s Faculty of Land and Food Systems talks about innovative food processing technologies and research. For example, did you know that new varieties of fruits and vegetables can now be grown in BC and Canada because of climate change? Dr. Yada shows how focusing on sustainable agriculture can help feed our future.
Watch this video to learn how our food systems can adapt to the challenge of climate change.

It’s a shame that with all the information to be gathered by U.B.C on this huge issue, it has fallen short . I am a seed farm, we grow open pollinated non gmo seed.We use no chemicals of any kind and use less than 300ltrs of fuel during the entire season. I am completely carbon neutral as an example. You have completely missed the mark for food security, low carbon footprint . Everything. I challenge you to a real discussion on this issue.
