@xiongyang401 Also, adding cracked corn and safflower to their feed greatly helps them during cold weather - both contain more fat and energy which can be utilized by the bird (a 21% pigeon feed with cracked corn added will do also - it generally contains more safflower seeds from what I have seen). If pigeons have sicknesses like canker or coccidiosis, their system will be weakened and likely be unable to handle cold weather.

@xiongyang401 Homing pigeons are hardier breeds and can generally tolerate colder temperatures than show breeds of pigeons like these can. Pigeons need a spacious loft which is dry and well-ventilated, but not drafty - using at least 2 inches deep of cedar shavings on the loft floor and covering most of the loft vents with clear plastic can help insulate the loft in the winter, especially helping the show breeds.
