I find it funny that we're ALL hoping for a girl for Buggie's sake & Buggie has NO idea she needs a sister!!! If this baby is a boy, I wouldn't want to be the guy walking up to the door to take Buggie out on a date!!! That's what I would call intimidation...Ben & his army!!! 😂🤣 😂😅

Thrilled that I found you through Becky. My Grampa was a State Patrol officer from the 40's through the late 60's. and Grammie was a gardener. I grew up going to the farm every weekend. they raised all their own protein. And butchered their protein. he always raised 2-3 extra animals to sell to friends. I raised my first cow starting at 9. My first pig at 11. I participated in butchering because it was farm live. I was raised to respect and treat our animals well. Nothing has ever tasted as good as the food from my grandparents farm. I am disabled now, so farm life is not possible for me, but watching your videos is such a blessing,

Buggy is so happy and loves to sing. she loves being outside, barefoot, with her Daddy. She is such a dear little child. I'm sure she has her "moments" like we all do - but she is so, so precious. I cannot wait to see how she does with her new sibling and I do so hope and pray it is a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is my understanding that Becky is incapable of learning. Hell, she still calls her hero, Ina Garten, "Ina Gardener" even though half her comments are ppl correcting her. Becky believes she knows all, she's only here to boost her channel. She doesn't even eat meat with bones. Why should she be here??

Just watched Acre Homestead about Becky’s weekend learning to butcher a pig. Very informative!! I also bought your pork cook book so I can expand my sausage making skills. Your headcheese recipe look great. In the UK we call it brawn and I can remember my mother making it. It really is true to say you can use all of the pig except the oink. Even the trotters, love them served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Yum!!!

Meg, in NC at a "hog killing" our family and our neighboring families always served baked sweet potatoes, corn bread (flat skillet style & raised cake style), biscuits with sausage & cured ham & homemade jams and preserves, cracklin' corn bread, collard & turnip greens, dried butter beans or blackeye peas, and liver pudding. We also had eggs, grits and sausage gravy or red eye gravy with breakfast. I live down in Southeastern NC. Our BBQ is made with a vinegar based sauce and our liver pudding and hog head cheese or scrapple is made differently than it is made in the Western part of the state. I believe our style of liver pudding has a higher meat to corn meal ratio and no flour compared to that made in the western part of NC.

So positive on the class and how interesting you made it. You may want to catch her videos as she has a wonderful new garden set up. Cooking, processing and preserving. @@nelshakankiri really? She’s incredibly lazy, dirty and very sloppy in her cooking. Throws stuff around in her drawers, puts opened containers out without lids, just invites bugs and weevils in them flour and such. Homesteaders work. She does not work. She hires everything done. She puts in a huge garden worth hundreds of thousands and if it weren’t for her parents, that garden would go to seed. She did harvest some stuff but as a rule, it seems like she never uses it. She does not know how to cook. If a recipe calls for something, she says she doesn’t want to go downstairs to get it, so she leaves it out or substitute’s something that doesn’t have a place in the recipe. @@nelshakankiri I'll go on...she sends her husband and baby to stay in the LAUNDRY ROOM while she plays "Ira Gartner" in her million dollar home. She has a nanny to care for her child because she can't be bothered. She keeps a po box for old ladies to send her gifts, which she never acknowledges, and you'll see them asking in the comments if she got them /they were expensive for them/why won't she respond. Becky could learn a lot from Meg on hosting, and cooking. Meg's food looks amazing and she never feels frantic in the kitchen; always relaxed. You can tell Meg enjoys cooking. Hopefully Becky picked up some tips from Meg as well as Ben. And not just about butchering but using various cuts of meat (maybe even ones with bones!) and not just her usual bacon and sausage she gets every year from her whole hog.

Towards the end of this video, I realize why you won’t showed up on my FYP… I noticed Becky from acre homestead at your seminar in the barn, and I just watched her video where she learned how to butcher a pig properly. I wish I had someone who shift or transported me to where I live in New York because I bought a quarter of a cow for the very first time a few months ago and I would love to do it again but I would love to purchase a pig!

Becky from Acre Homestead will never butcher a pig in her lifetime. She is just there schmoozing with long time You Tubers and she and her sister took two workshop spots away from other real homesteaders who would have benefitted by it. Glad Meg and Ben didn't put her into any spotlight in their video.

She's an absolute JOKE! I guess there were no workshops on how to grind up entire animals and cover them in cheese, so Becky had to make do. Anything to avoid that pesky baby.

Bless you both to have these classes. I’m so happy to see a lot of people homesteading. My mom was raised on a farm and she shared her life story with us. We’re retired in Southern California caring for our special needs grandson so, we’re stuck here because it took us 10 yrs to get the support of a loving caregiver and a special school to help us raise him. If we were younger we would have moved like you both did where we could have more land. We only have a 1/4 acre, we have egg layers, and have 10 fruit and nut trees and our veggie garden.
