Awesome. Good luck. Glad we could help
I constructed some mice racks using another video and have run into some issues with the tub fit. I *really* like the way you have these constructed, just looking at the first few frames of the video I can see how you solved a lot of the problems I'm fighting right now. Dude, well done on those racks. I'll be watching your rack build videos and building out a new set of racks soon.
ive bred in the past I averaged 15-22 babies per litter, gave the mothers at least 2 weeks off after they finished weaning, but I separated females once pregnant into their own smaller tub, easy to make sure all getting fed and keeping mothers and litters straight, good video :)
This is a informative video. I like the way you you take your time to explain every detail. The treatment of the animals seems to be respectful. Very good work!

FYI - Pine is very toxic to rats and literally makes breathing painful for them. Aspen would be a better wood choice. I understand these are feeders and aren't pets but the pressure on their respiratory system from the pine is very strong.

Hey man, great videos! I was curious what size tubs you are using. That would be very helpful. They look like the mixing tubs from Lowes. Thank you
Love your video it is really helpful
I like you're setup. Matter of fact I have a guy making me a rack now in LA. Not sure how many levels I need. I also need to figure out how to set up the watering system.
Very detailed video! I'm not in the snake business but I find these videos very interesting. I like the organization! I agree with you on the clear tubs getting more light which seems to me is more healthy for the snakes. The water bill is obsolete in my opinion. I work in irrigation and a typical (Residential) irrigation system runs about 12-15 gallons per minute. Depending on the time of year it could run from every day to 3-4 times a week for lets say 40 minutes. That's 520 gallons each cycle! If you fill your tubs every week totaling 15 gallons each time. That's a little over 800 gallons per year which is only two cycles of a sprinkler system. Probably too much information but thought I'd share. Well Done! I'm enjoying you channel!

Hello Big! First of all a very useful video and thanks! I would like help from you! if you can! With 5 baby snakes (150 to 250 grams now), how do you advise me to do? How many racks and how many tanks per rack? And how many mice or rats to put in (male and female)? Another thing I did not understand is the rotation of males and females? remove the male? and pregnant females must be divided and alone? how often do you have spare parts to get new breeding machines? And last thing ... how do you do with the smell? you say that close to the ball python can stay .. but how do you smell it? I would like to keep them at home in the snake room .. can I? Thanks for all!
Enjoy watching and learning new ideas from you to incorporate them into my collection and hopefully turn my hobby into PT fun money soon. I have a question regarding any type of mite preventative you might do in your collection like one does with their reptiles throughout the year. I just started a colony and have wondered and thought I would ask you and /or anyone reading this comment :) Thanks again for the hard work on making these videos for us and the new logo is SUPER SWEET !!!

Thanks! Big key is buy quality stock and then keep your own grow ups. I clean and disinfect the tubs every week. Also find "Hot Shots 2" in the insect section at Home Depot. Cut it up into 1/2" squares and put on top of the racks. That will attract and kill any little buggers

Wow this videos amazing
Have you had an issue with the rats chewing through the mesh on top?
So, if you move the weened rats to another tub, do you put them together or do you separate the males and females to limit them reproducing?
Those rats are cute!! I have pet rats and I love hearing the rat squeaks. I’m getting a snake in the near future (not gonna feed my pet rats to her tho lol). If I get more snakes I’d consider breeding rats because it ends up being cheaper and I can know exactly what the rats eat.

What kind of wood is it made from
I have two ball pythons, and then ended up having a male and female rat that I got from the store and neither snake was hungry. So now the medium rats I bought are large and the girl has had 2 litters. Currently they are all together in a small cage and I’m about to make a rack. Im thinking one single rack should be enough?
Do you have complete plans to print?

Yes they can. But they can chew through just about anything other than metal
Can’t find the food were I live for them have to order all mine
how can the new borns reach the food? or do you add a lot of wood shaving?
@MorphMixologyReptiles
5 жыл бұрын
Well the brand new pups don't eat the food, they get milk from the mom. Once they are weaned off of the mom and eating solid food, the bedding is think enough they can reach the food. Also when the moms eat the food it breaks down into small enough pieces that fall through the mesh. That helps too.
Where would you Suggest getting your first adults to start a colony. I do t want a 15$ pet rat from the store.
Awesome.
