I adore the double-meaning behind the lyrics! I've noticed in so many songs how you cleverly interweave a direct story - in this case a succubus literally posing as someone's lover and feasting on their affection - and an indirect, metaphorical one: a sociopathic abuser under a charismatic facade who shows their true colors over time and leaves their partner emotionally ruined in the end. It makes the content of your music so relatable, even with the most fantastical of concepts. Everything about this song is fantastically creepy, but the lyrics are what really won me over!

Romantic songs can be very deep and compelling but this one, is pure raw emotion. It's how clever to make a music and actually not knowing the fact that there's always a reason to know what's behind of all of this. This is fantastic and brilliant!

This song gives me chills. I so rarely find changeling-related media that leans into just how terrifying they are, and this is easily the best among them at capturing that feeling.

Instant classic, in my opinion. The lyrics are so suave and clever, yet incredibly disturbing, even trance-like at times. It really feels as though every syllable is designed for seduction, akin to the likes of "Trust in Me." The way in which the sound layers are blended really achieves the changeling feel, and not only that, it is incredibly pleasing to the ear. Wonderful mixing. A very creepy, but very, very lovely masterpiece. Well done, Ponyphonic! Brilliant as always!

This is 100% a villain song and I’m in love with it. It has all the haunting charm one would expect from an antagonist, what with the sugar coated threats and double meaning behind the lyrics (that in my opinion is up there with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman‘s music).

I like to imagine that the beginning of the song follows to a violent episode, the "I stepped out for a moment" was lashing out at the lover but soon picked up the masquerade.

This is a beautiful piece of music. It is so sophisticated and ethereal and wonderfully creepy. And the vocals are just gorgeous! It’s really nice and always just so interesting to hear a male voice singing a female’s character (and vice-versa!). The lyrics are perfect too. But I think my favorite thing about it is that while this song is MLP themed, it can also be taken out of context without having any ties to the fandom at all. If I didn’t know it was MLP themed, I would listen and wonder about the lyrics without ever thinking it was a fan piece. That was a cool lyrical choice. I enjoy it because fans can love it for what it is, while others who don’t know/aren’t a part of the fandom can enjoy it for completely different reasons. Truly an amazing piece, expertly done!

I JUST learned this exists TODAY! My god is it one hell of a dark “love song” that’s actually a villain song from the Changeling Queen’s POV! It starts off so sweet, but then it goes into just how dark the idea of “feeding off of love” really is.

I love the subtle creepiness of this song. A lot of these lyrics would be sweet in a typical love song, but knowing who's singing it puts a disturbing twist on them.
