@@amelialister1220So the puppet designs are all practically the same for each production, The little pod is a hand puppet, the plant when held by Seymour is also a hand puppet, and the only puppet operated by the lead, The "Feed Me" Plant is a a full body puppet (kinda like big bird) the mouth is operated by both arms why the legs are the vines , and for the big one in the final parts of the show is a big puppet that has a back device that holds up the upper lip up, while the puppet uses both arms to pull a bar that operates the bottom lip. Now for the number of Puppeteers it varies, The Original Off Broadway performance, All puppets (besides the Seymour operated one) were handled by only one Puppeteer, In the Broadway Revival in the early 2000s most puppets were often performed by one Puppeteer but it can also be up to four, this also applies to the off-broadway revival today, which is operated by primarily (excluding Seymour)
Let’s give some appreciation for Aaron Arnell Harrington as the voice of Twoey. This is one of the most expressive Twoey performances I’ve heard so far.

Aaron and Matt Doyle should really do a cover on this song because this performance of Aaron and rob on stage is real good wish I could be there to see the show myself also Aaron really makes a good twoey cause he sounds a lot like Levi Stubbs with a bit of a touch there. I like the dentists lines better there too. Where he’s mad at Audrey for messing up his hair even though it looks the same as always. And the Elvis voice he does just lollllll
A failure. The author's note in the libretto literally says to play the material as honest and straight as possible as that is where the humour comes from, the contrast of the seriousness to the absurdity. It also says not to play Seymour as a Jerry Lewis type character. A closer comparison to Seymour I can think of is a balding middle-aged Peter Parker without superpowers, and his "with great power" lesson comes from his selfish actions leading to a great personal loss and the fall of humanity. You have overacted everything and are playing everything so silly, it's a disgrace to Ashman's wishes and to the show. You have dialed the silliness to 11. Pasadena, 2003 Broadway, 2009 England, and 1982 Off-Broadway hit a better balance. Heck even the 1987 Japanese show while played sillier than those still kept it under control more than this. If you want this show to be funny, and to do the show authentically, you have to play it straight, because that's what makes the material funny and makes it hit.

This show has consistently made super bizarre casting choices for Seymour. While I saw the show twice and loved both of the Seymours that I saw (Skylar Aston and Evan Alexander Smith), Jonothan groff and Jeremy Jordan don't fit the character of Seymour in the slightest and for a while they were a big part of the shows advertising It seems like they're just abandoning the original source material and taking all of the characters in an entirely new direction (especially with Seymour and Audrey [Tammy Blanchard]) and I don't know how I feel about it
