Don't feel old, life is but a glimpse...
You will not see more pure hitting than when these guys matched up
Always liked Agassi's power and accuracy, what a great battle. Good commentary too. Thank you.
Thanks for posting. I'd almost forgotten how amazing Federer was. Never seen a player move more effortlessly
Fed’s style was unmatched, top 3 outifts in tennis history.. ICONIC. Federer used to thrive on agassi’s pace, and use it to create even more pace to smash winners. Fed’s footwork, balance, shotmaking, and hunger to win, made it practically impossible for agassi to win. Sure agassi was old but was arguably playing some of the best tennis of his life. Agassi was beating everyone else that year except for fed and nadal (montreal final CLASSIC)

His age slowed him down though. Not moving as well as he used to. And slightly over weight.

That's just false and you know it. Agassi doesn't have a 100% record against other players. Federer fans don't mind him beating a near retired 35 year old with a bad back and can barely move yet crying 'grandpa' Federer at 28.

Taking nothing away from Roger, who was great as always... it is eye-opening to look back at these clips of Andre, knowing now how much pain he was in with his back during those last couple of seasons. It's particularly apparent in his walk.

Exactly, Fed fans usually complain that their idol is grandpa at 28 yet have no problem with beating a near retired 35 year old Agassi who could barely walk

he always walked like that. sampras even made fun of his walk in a exibition match with agassi roger and rafa. but his back was hurting.
There's just something way more badass about being the GOAT on fast/ medium paced courts (Federer) than being the best on slow-as-molasses courts (Djokodal)
Absolutely beautiful tennis.
It shouldn't be possible that the tennis played 20 years ago remains better than the current one...

That's true, a near retired Agassi at 35 years old who could barely walk would double bagel Djokovic Medvedev Sinner, Alcaraz

Oh, what a great match! Watching two great legends at their best is such a treat!
Two of my all time favorites!
My two favorite all time players!
This was a brillent game. Thank you both for giving us such a beautiful era of tennis. Bless you both❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was one of the greatest matches I've ever seen (a recording of): incredible ball striking and shot making, with thankfully--for an ex-player who once considered going on the tour--numerous rallies shown from player level (rather than the usual "birds-eye view" which doesn't let you see the shots and strategy from the player's perspective).
The more I go back and watch these older videos, the more I realize that tennis peaked in the mid 2000s.

Great job with this video. Do you have the Federer vs Kukushkin from Basel 2015 or the match against Goffin from the same tournament? I can't find those matches. Thanks.
I miss these 2 playing tennis. Federer was a freak of a player and for me tennis is not the same. This wS the good old days❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
More highlights in this match than in latest Australian Open final.

That's because both Agassi and Federer were were shot makers, in fact their were a lot more aggressive players during the 90's, which is why no one player could just dominate the field all the time
the camera angle at 2:20 AWESOME!
The best match they played that year. In terms of raw level it is fairly better than the us open final.
4:21 -- That was a nasty slice approach shot from Fed and a tremendous top spin lob from Andre.
too good
The 2000s was so clearly the peak of tennis!

Love you both and yòu beautiful wives❤❤❤❤
Such a night day difference winners and performance wise
Ill pick agassi anytime, he is more fun to watch, takes the ball early or on the rise. He is 35 by this time, played against 3 generations of players and succeded. Played 3 generations of racket technology and showed that his ground strokes and talent was intergenerational. If he was at his prime and played and trained in this generation he would be the most fun player to watch out there. Dont want to watch much tennis anymore because players nowadays tend to whack balls way behind the baseline, theyre great but theyre also monotonous.
Federer was insane I can’t believe I hated him so much. He is really the best player. He dominated players of his era, in their prime. Unlike Djokovic who dominate really a young transition era.

Federer flukes a lot of shots. Example: at 2:41 his return went short accidentally because he hooked the ball with the top of his racquet. Everyone thought it was intentional, but it wasn't.
@Chris-xc4rv
3 ай бұрын
That wasn't a fluke, he took it early so he wouldn't have to slice the return. Taking it early created the shorter angle. Not his fault agassi couldn't get to it.

@@lawrence1318 that topspin serve was so slow he had time to tie his shoe before he hit it. I could see if it was a first serve and you said this. But he had all the time in the world.
Novak enjoyed weak era once GOAT Federer lost his prime.
Agassi was good, even great at key moments… but…in the sane stratosphere as a Sampras or a Roger Federer… is not even a reality!
