0:46 to 0:49 sounds like the some of the sirens used by the Illinois State Police cars in "The Blues Brothers" during the ending chase scene....

It was the 1970s siren. Now all the squad cars have vibrators which are annoying.

Me too. Spent years running ambulances with the Federals and sometimes with a B&M SC. and a Q2. They were the best, often imitated but never equaled.

What a great walk down amnesia lane! I started with an '84 Chevy that had a Smith & Wesson siren. Only the yelp button worked and it was more of a sick Basset Hound sound. I only had the Interceptor in one car and absolutely loved it! We all went crazy with the in-between Yelp and Wail... we called it "the pinger". Good stuff!

what about the other two inbetween tones? I saw on another video that there are technically four, One close to the wail, one close to the yelp, one close to the yelp on the hi-lo side and one close to the Hi-Lo

Dear god this brings me back to my first day on the job. Still remember responding to a fight in progress at a movie theatre. As I am walking out with a guy in cuffs I am hearing the police radio in a loudspeaker. MY dumbass turned the siren all the way to radio when I went to turn it off. Doh.

@@Officer620 PA15 would do it also. We had the original PA20’s with just wail and yelp. We tightened the set screw on the selector knob on the in-between wail and yelp for the high-pitched “Chicago Bang-Bang”….. then turned the gain/power off until needed. Couldn’t overuse it for long periods cause it would burn out the drivers quick if you left it “on” too long….. ahhh the days!!!!! Everybody knew who was comin….
