Federal 3rd Degree 12ga 3.5" 2oz #5,6,7 Test W/ Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag & Indian Creek .675
Today we bring out some of the Federal 3rd Degree 12ga 3.5" 2oz 5,6,7 shells and put them to the test at 40 yards through the Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag and an Indian Creek .675 choke. We definitely saw some interesting results from this combo, so stick around and see how it performs!

Yep, it's done well for me, but I will say that it has been a little more picky to find those really good load and choke combos than my old 11-87
Hard to tame those tri-plex loads. Keep up the good work 👍

The stacked style loads definitely seem to be a little more picky sometimes
My 10 gauge, 12 gauge, & 20 gauge all have Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike chokes. It's the only turkey choke I will ever use, but I wouldn't shoot a flight control wad through them. I would remove my turkey choke & use a normal full choke for a flight control wad load.

Indian Creek chokes have seemed to be way more picky than a lot of cheaper chokes in my testing. Yes, they have given us some good patterns, but I've also seen some patterns that are hard to argue with from some really cheap chokes plenty of times

@@matttyreeoutdoors I prefer Indian Creek chokes for the turkey loads that I want to shoot. It wasn't designed for flight control wads. Since I don't like flight control wad loads, I don't need the cheap chokes to shoot them. I'm not saying IC is the best choke for everyone. If there's one choke that's the best for every load out there, I would be quite surprised. A perfect choke for all might eliminate the need for your channel.

@driftlesshunter9200 I'm not generally a fan of flight control loads either, but the Indian Creeks have even been picky with a bunch of other shells in my testing as well. Indian Creeks can absolutely give good patterns, but I've had plenty of shells do noticeably better with much more basic, cheaper chokes, so you don't always need the fanciest or most expensive chokes to get great performance

@@matttyreeoutdoors I don't blindly buy anything, and when I purchased Indian Creek turkey chokes over 20 years ago, they were setting world records with Hevi-shot loads. This was long before TSS was on the scene. As I switch over from Hevi-13 to TSS, I have seen no reason to buy a new choke. I have bought cheaper Carlson turkey chokes for those who don't want to pay a premium price, & I am not knocking cheap turkey chokes that perform well. I just know flight control wads don't perform well in some chokes. Personally, I think flight control wads are for those who don't use a tight turkey choke. Bottom line - A person doesn't need a turkey choke to harvest a turkey. I enjoy your videos, and you do them extremely well. Despite that, one has to know their own set up. There's no substitute for that!
I wasn't very impressed when I tested them a coupe of years back

Yep, I think that's probably the same for most people who have tried them
Great Video, but NOT GREAT performance.

Yeah, it wasn't anything amazing
I'm calling that 'patchy'. Clumps, not consistence.
