    You could have used the speed square as a guide edge for a perfectly straight cut. Just saying.

    I just bought this saw but how do you get the blade plastic cover to lock out of the way. I don’t get it.

    It doesn’t lock out of the way. It just glides up and out of the way as you are cutting. Does that make sense?
