Hi Chad, thanks for your question. I think either pair would be ok in XS or S. Personally I would prob opt for the S just so you have some extra space in case your weight increases. The waist difference between and med and large is only 4cm however you do gain 3 cm in length with the large and seeing as your a tall guy I feel the extra length would be a better fit for you.
