FDA full approval for Pfizer

FDA Approves First COVID-19 Vaccine
EUA since December 11, 2020
www.fda.gov/news-events/press...
U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine
Will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee)
for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older
Continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), 12 to 15s
and for a third dose in immunocompromise
Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D
While this and other vaccines have met the FDA’s rigorous, scientific standards for emergency use authorization,
as the first FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine, the public can be very confident that this vaccine meets the high standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality the FDA requires of an approved product
we recognize that for some, the FDA approval of a vaccine may now instill additional confidence to get vaccinated.
Today’s milestone puts us one step closer to altering the course of this pandemic in the U.S.
FDA statement
The mRNA in Comirnaty is only present in the body for a short time and is not incorporated into - nor does it alter - an individual’s genetic material.
Comirnaty has the same formulation as the EUA vaccine and is administered as a series of two doses, three weeks apart.
Analyzed effectiveness and safety data from 20,000 vaccine and 20,000 placebo recipients
Vaccine was 91% effective in preventing COVID-19 disease
Safety, approximately 12,000 recipients have been followed for at least 6 months.
The most commonly reported side effects
Pain, redness and swelling at the injection site
Fatigue, headache, muscle or joint pain, chills, and fever
Rigorous evaluation of the post-authorization safety surveillance data
Myocarditis and pericarditis
Chest pain, shortness of breath, or feelings of having a fast-beating, fluttering, or pounding heart
www.fda.gov/news-events/press...
www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/w...
52 million doses to 12-29 years
1,226 reports of myocarditis after mRNA vaccination 42,414
One in 42,414
Data demonstrate increased risks, particularly within the seven days following the second dose
The observed risk is higher among males under 40 years of age compared to females and older males
Risk is highest in males 12 through 17 years of age
Short-term follow-up suggest that most individuals have had resolution of symptoms
Some individuals required intensive care support
Information is not yet available about potential long-term health outcomes
FDA and CDC, monitoring systems in place for early detection
Pfizer will
Conduct postmarketing studies to further assess the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis
Include an evaluation of long-term outcomes
Conducting a pregnancy registry study to evaluate pregnancy and infant outcomes after vaccination during pregnancy

Remove the liability waiver. Alternatively, have the government assume liability. I imagine that would make people more comfortable. It also happens to be the moral thing to do. Someone must be held accountable, regardless.

Five months ago I was one of those people who was waiting for FDA approval, but after over half of the people I know who got the shot got side effects worse than all 24 my annual flu shots combined, including a friend who is still having problems 3 months later (and prior to the Covid vaccine never had a problem with any others), I'm holding out hope for Novavax. But I don't think the FDA is going to grease the wheels for them. If they have to coerce and manipulate and mandate to this extent to get people to take it, there's gotta be something wrong with it. They never had to do this for any other vaccine, and so far I've never gotten sick with anything I've ever been vaccinated against.

Kentucky residents who were not vaccinated had 2.34 times the odds of reinfection compared with those who were fully vaccinated (odds ratio [OR] = 2.34; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.58-3.47). These findings suggest that among persons with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, full vaccination provides additional protection against reinfection. To reduce their risk of infection, all eligible persons should be offered vaccination, even if they have been previously infected with SARS-CoV-2.*" - Cavanaugh et al, Reduced Risk of Reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 after Covid-19 Vaccination - Kentucky - Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report - May-June 2021

Then when someone sees the doctor, the first question is, "Have you been vaccinated?". If yes, the tendency is to not hospitalize, as the thought is, "They've had the vaccine, they'll be OK.", where if they haven't, the thought is,"This person could really be in trouble! I should hospitalize them!" See how that works? We saw the same when there were measles vaccine failures. Hospitals told people who had kids were were vaccinated who called with infections to stay home, not to go to the hospital. Sadly, there were some deaths as a result. After this happened, a university has students all take a booster. This is how it works.

If ever there was a regulatory body captured by the organisations it's meant to be regulating it's the FDA and as long as half their funding comes from the products they are meant to be regulating this will not change. What people seem to overlook with "Operation Warp Speed" is you simply cannot apply warp speed to longterm safety testing it takes as long as it takes and that should be years. The way to tell for certain is to look at the head of the FDA and just see where she goes next for her next job as every regulatory body that's been captured has their head official go and work for them when they move on.

Perhaps testing on creatures with shorter life spans or something. It’s unfair to judge the speed of approval without considering the cutting of red tape by simultaneously researching in a thousand labs around the world.

anybody who is not extremely suspicious of all this going on just is not paying any attention. The government is completely bulldozing the people to get it, and even saying that they will not give us our freedoms unless we submit to these shots that we absolutely do NOT want to take. In a sane world, somebody who did that would be charged with deprivation of liberty and false imprisonment, but the brazen corruption of these monsters and their mandates is out there in the open now. In Australia it is literally being suggested that food stores should refuse to let unvaxt people buy food. Somehow, this starvation blockade to coerce unwilling people to comply is regarded as perfectly normal, like its okay to threaten people's lives with starvation to make them take an experimental injection they totally distrust.

I live in Germany, a 37 y.o. healthy woman. Was unsure about vaccinating myself, however decided to go for it… Got my 1. Pfizer shot at the beginning of Aug and 4 days later at night got pain in left arm, pain in my chest, diarrhea, difficulties breathing.. my heart rate was racing and blood pressure went up. I felt I was going to die. Called ambulance and was taken to hospital.. Released the same night… made all the medical checks same week - my heart is healthy. I heard that more and more young patients are reporting undesired side effects related to chest pain… I won‘t risk it with the 2nd shot!

The issue with these numbers that you quote (which are accurate) is that the current Delta strain affects young people a lot more than the previous ones (when the previous peak happened) and is now the predominant strain being transmitted. The chance of getting myocarditis from a vaccine has not changed but the chance of being hospitalized with the Delta strain is likely to be a lot higher than the previous high from January. Another issue I see with your comparison, is that the myocarditis risk with vaccination only applies to a short period after getting the injection. The risk from hospitalization from covid is ongoing and cumulative over time. So you have to add up the percentage from every month, not just count the maximum number from one month.

Besides a bit of fatigue after 2nd dose that was it, had a 3rd absolutely no sides just 20x boost in ABs which were waning. Why are people getting neurologic sides which seems much more common in people who were first infected. then got vaxxed. Think there are lots of people who unknowingly were asymptomatic when infected then got vaccine and then have all these sides. Why neurologic though, and why not everyone, did having the virus cause these neuro issues. If it happened to me I would want to find out the whys maybe have genetic testing, There's reasons why only a minority have these issues. If it was just the vaccine then why didn't it happen to all. The sickly nursing home residents who were infected then get vaxxed were the ones who had the most fatal incidents . They had neuro sides soon after vaccine, headaches, dizziness, etc. so this was a combo of previous infection and vaccine. Many non elderly people think these sides mean good response but when the sickly elderly had them it seemed to foreshadow their demise. What is the virus doing to the CNS?

Everything is probably fine, it usually is, but there is no way that this should be mandated. One’s employment should not be dependent on vaccination for a disease that is marginally worse than the flu, especially for what is still an experimental treatment - yes they have been working on the technology for 20 years but it has not been in use for human vaccines for anything like that long, certainly not long enough to understand whether there are any long term side effects. In 2004 I was poisoned with an anti-malarial medication that had been developed in a rush for the Vietnam war. The official side-effect rate was 1 in a 1000, the anecdotal rate was 1 in a 100. I had seven weeks off work after taking two tablets, other people I read about had ended up in psychiatric hospitals for years.

Hi Ruby and Remi. After many hours I can't find your reply to me. Seems that reply in the email takes you to all posts, and opening 6000 posts is not fun. So I'll answer here. I am watching for information rather than advice. A PhD doesn't necessarily mean you are genuinely intelligent past memory and some rudimentary usage of the information and intellectual processes, but people with actual qualification feel free to turn up and discuss with him, and he does seem intelligent, which is good enough. I know the musing about infecting to enhance protection after double vaccine, is out there, but I get it. He is discussing something and the evidence. Now, most anti covid vaccines KZread zealots might talk like you are saying, but an intelligent person discussed abs knows discussion is only examination suggestion reason, not a command like KZread against whatever people tend to do, as they are obsessed about possibly being told what to do, because they want to be the people who tell people what to do, by their command. It's like Vader putting on a blond wig and telling everybody he is their friend and you should do what he says (or else). Their version of liberty is liberty to oppress others and do what they want, power. Question them, planting questions discretely to reveal if that is really his they feel, and realise they are their friend rather than your friend, and should be accommodated Inna responsible way and move on. Anyway, I can't find my posts, which took a long time, that's unprofessional, and maybe beyond the intelligence. If the person doing it. Knowledge is massive, the philosophy of using knowledge is too, not many get there in professional circles. Medical professionals are superiorly inferior, like a mouse in a test maze. Shallow, little ability with knowledge. Such people will object to reason, considering what they say as reason instead of real reason, thus opinion. So yes. Maybe he is s not perfect, but he is doing pretty ok, in doing a good thing. Let's move on.

So, a slight problem in the video... If 52 million doses of vaccine given leads to 1226 incidents of myocarditis, that does not mean that your risk of myocarditis from the vaccine is one in 42,414, That has to be compared to the rate of myocarditis for the same population size over the same time frame without the vaccine given. That latter number is unlikely to be zero since myocarditis has other causes. The information is presumably in the study since the study does reach the conclusion that the risk is elevated. But it's an omission in the video not to use comparative rather than absolute data.
