    great vid. This shows that balance is key, as ever. Everyone wants to have a philosophy at their club but Barca have triumphed but no longer having a distinct style of play. Sit deep and they will pass you to death. Press them and they will get behind you. They are the chameleon team. Unpredictable and adaptable.

    +PDS FC but how do they deal with a team that has all players behind the ball? what if you just let them have possession and not chase the ball.

  • @tianjinjames

    well, i guess no team want to keep passing the ball for no reason during the entire game, they have to make dangerous/careless passes at some point, so when Barca has the ball, they could and will keep the possession longer and better. Skill wise (passing) and teamwork wise, barca is the best.

    they play direct to counter that...they may be seeing slightly less of the ball and cutting down on the passing interchanges; but it’s what Barcelona do with the ball in front of the opposition goal which is of greater importance. A criticisms of tiki-taka, sometimes valid, is that for all its beauty, sometimes the end result can be a disappointment...during Guardiola’s final season at the Camp Nou, his team created on average 15.7 chances per game from open play football. This figure increased slightly under Villanova (16.5) and up to 18.3 under Martino. Fast forward to 2015 and Luis Enrique’s more direct playing style and Barcelona are now averaging a significantly higher 19.5 chances per game...so whilst the 2015 version of Barcelona carries out fewer actions in building their attacks and holds onto the ball slightly less, when they do have the ball their direct style results in the team averaging more open play chances per game.

    Enrique often utilized Mourinhio's style of Counter attacks, last shown by the latter's Real Madrid side. The most notable moment of this was in the UCL 2015 Final against Juve. Two goals each from Suarez and Neymar were from Counter attacks

    +jonh 886 the MSN are the best trio upfront in the world, Rakitic also is very important for Barca. But, considering Fabregas, he isn't bad, he is a very good playmaker, but sometimes he had some problems at the time he must return to defend

  • @dmwmm

    @dmwmm

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Mark Thuo I would say current Barca would win, because Pep's Barca always had struggles with counter attacks & often with set pieces. Other than those differences, one major difference is Xavi but Busquets is playing better than he used to play back then and I think Rakitic + Busquets enhanced abilities help them cope with the loss of Xavi, especially when Iniesta is back in form. Additionally, Neymar adds a ton of creativity to their game and Suarez finishes everything. He's the best finisher in the world, better finisher than Messi was in 2009-2011 imo (not a better player though).

  • @dmwmm

    @dmwmm

    8 жыл бұрын

    Mark Thuo yeah indeed. Suarez' work rate is crazy and like you said his hunger is relentless. Arda will certainly improve the team, may it be by replacing one of the midfielders or by making them perform better. I personally hope Enrique manages to play Iniesta, Rakitic and Arda equally often and rotates between them. I think Busquets is still a set starter as Arda is an offensive midfielder anyway. And yeah, finally we have another right back, but Dani Alves has been playing brilliantly recently in many games. I'm excited for this year already!

  • @dmwmm

    @dmwmm

    8 жыл бұрын

    Mark Thuo yeah I agree. I loved Pedro but he wanted play time, too bad he left. Barca should've won, Messi and Suarez had great chances but unfortunately they took one point from that dirty game. It was a pain to watch, really.. Regarding la Masia, Bartra and Sergi Roberto are not bad players for example, but Pique, Mascherano and the other midfield players are simply a level above them. They would probably start at many other clubs, but they will not break through the first team unfortunately. Hopefully we'll discover some new talents in la Masia in the future though. I don't see Munir and Sandro making the first team either and at one point they will probably start to be unhappy with their role. It's also crazy that all of Messi's last three freekicks hit the crossbar. It's crazy how accurate he can shoot

  • @dmwmm

    @dmwmm

    8 жыл бұрын

    Mark Thuo We'll see what he's going to do, but Jordi Alba and Dani Alves are also reliable attacking forces. Mascherano and Pique are solid most of the times, too. We'll have to wait and see I guess :p

    The philosphy at Barca has always been similar just with slight modifications coming with differen't managers, Van Gaals system was slightly different from Cruyffs so was Guardiolas from Van Gaals and so on. The core of the system is offensive dominant possestion and pressing football. In Guardiolas system however the focus is much more on dominating the midfield this is why they play with a false nine and 5 midfielders in comparison to Enriques 3 midfielders and 3 forwards. Also the team is more strict with the positions. Means in the first 2/3 of the field the players have to stay on their respective position while in Enriques system occassionaly two players can change the positions but just as in Guardiolas system not stay on the same position what will cause gaps in other positions. Also this Barcelona plays often also more direct. Overall however both systems are akine in their cores. It is possession driven.

  • @alirezaei5316
    @alirezaei53168 жыл бұрын

    I agree with everything you said. That's how exactly Barcelona plays. But you could have added, How Barca scores with short corners or set pieces.. Messi gets the ball from Neymar from the short corner then finds the midfielders (Busqests or Inesta) who passes to (Alves or Alba) that are making the runs from the wings and finally the full backs crosses the ball in the box and finds Suarez or Pique and scores. And Messi is going to be the best football player EVER in football history.

    +PDS FC wrong Neymar is a winger who plays in on the left, he sometimes switch sides or even go on the middle. But what he does love is dribbling from the lw into the box and either pass to messi ,suarez, or back to iniesta who then can works his magics. Neymar was and never is an attack mid

  • @PDSFC

    @PDSFC

    8 жыл бұрын

    +jonh 886 that was what I was saying, I said he is mainly a winger, but sometimes SEEMS like a second striker or attacking mid, as he is given a free role, especially at the time Messi was injured, so sometimes he goes centrally to receive the ball, as the free role means he can go to any place he wants in the field, so when he goes a little to the middle he can look like a second striker or an attacking mid, that's why I used "the word seems" which means "looks like", not that he is actually an attacking mid or a second striker; most of the time he receives the ball in the left side (in his main position).

    Barca that season with the following 4-2-3-1 lineup could've broke Real Madrid's 121 La Liga goals scored a season record. GK: Bravo/Ter Stegen CB: Pique CB: Mascherano RB: Dani Alves LB: Jordi Alba DM: Busquets CM: Iniesta/Rakitic RM: Pedro/Iniesta/Messi LM: Neymar AM: Messi/Iniesta CF: Suarez With this formation, Barca's counterattacks would be dangerous. Imagine playing Pedro + MSN + Iniesta on the field with quick counterattacks like Mourinho's Real Madrid.

  • @PDSFC

    +Florat Berisha He did also allow counter attacks, which was used rarely in the 5 years before him, alongside possession and that actually made the MSN become even better as they always did great in the counter attack part, and the rest isn't just tactics things; for example he knew how to make his players work hard in training which is very important to improve their playing.

  • @PDSFC

    @PDSFC

    9 жыл бұрын

    Khalid Jama Yes, he played something like this: pedro and neymar were the wing backs, but neymar in a lot of times didn't stick to this position as he was more like a third attacker to messi and suarez, so at the times that neymar didn't return to defend as a left wing back Mathieu usually fills neymar's position, and mascherano fills Mathieu position. And Messi as usuall didn't feel like a striker as he was more like an extra midfielder helping in the build up play.And about if Enrique can trust this tactic in the future, in my opinion I don't really encourage it because in this tactic, while defending, they depend even more and more on the center backs, which is a bit risky as they are the last outfield players infront of the goal and if they made a little mistake it will be a big problem, so the only way that he can trust this tactic if all his three center backs were very top class defenders. For example something like: Chielini, ramos, and silva as his center backs.

  • @PDSFC

    @PDSFC

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Bharadwaj Rallabandi thanks :) Although I have never had any experience in managing yet, but from what I read I can tell you that as a manager of any team professional or amateur, there are four important things you must have: knowledge of tactics in order to put a suitable style for your team and also try studying your opponents teams you are facing so that you know how to stop them, a strong character so that the players do exactly what you say but at the same time don't make them hate you, the ability of encouraging them and getting 100 percent out of them but at the same time don't give them more than their capacity because you could end up having a lot of injuries, and finally the ability to discover who are the good players that can be useful or just need improving and to improve them and make them become better; if you have a player who has talent, but he can't use it well, you have to have the ability to teach him how to use it; also you must have a good relationship with your stuff. If you have these things, I can guarantee that you will be very successful.

    +Amirul F. the problem with van gaal is that he is not allowing the freedom required in the final third.... he is too rigid. for the barcelona system to work as smoothly as it does, there is need for freedom tp exist up in the final third. Guardiola once told his players at barca that his job was to take them upto the final third..... then the.finishing waa up to them, whichever they wanted.... that is why his trams are just beautiful to watch especially the.barca side of 2010-2011 season. The current barca side is slighly a different beast. The MSN trident has an understanding like no other, so the freedom that they allow each other to have is ridiculously good. Manchester. United do not have that kind of free flowing movement required for the johan cryuff system

    I was not confused at all, all of what you said are obvious things that are easily seen when watching a game. Now do a real analysis and explain why, for example, Barcelona players run away from the player in possession of the ball rather than get closer to him and offer support or perhaps you can explain why and how are barcelonas switch of play in the field been so effective this past year. nice job in showing Barcelonas highlights though.

    +Fernando Rivera Well, I was talking about the whole Barcelona 2015 analysis and what they do while on the field and not all of the things are obvious, but you know what, there is a video coming soon explaining Tiki Taka in details not just talking about them standing in triangles (as it may seem obvious to you), it will also explain how they use these triangles to good use, hope it doesn't seem obvious to you.

    It is actually quite simple. You see the barcelona system is built along keeping possesion for attacking and defending. Defending without the ball is a concept that is integrated in barcelona, it means keeping the ball from your opponent thus.minimizing the chances your opponent has to score. Remember, you cannot score without the ball. To answer your question, once a barcelona player has the.ball, 2 players will come to offer support in a triangular shaped manner.... the triangles are used to give the player with the ball more than.one option of where and who to pass the ball to. That was guardiola's barca. Under enrique, the style is more direct, the midfield release the ball to the final third more quickly than in guardiola's barca. You have Neymar and Suarez ... these players benefit from acres of space and they are really good when it comes to counter attacking. Also remember that MSN are different from MDP ( Messi, David Villa and Pedro). Do luis enrique had to alter the style to ve a bit more direct so as to maximize.on the abilities of neymar and suarez. Lastly when a barca player has the ball, the wingers move away from the one with the ball so.as to make the pitch appear larger, thus creating space to attack and launch those killer passes. However, when.barcelona lose the ball, the players surround the opponent with the ball, and cut off passing lanes.... this strategy makes the pitch appear vey small and limits the amount of space for the opponent to move and pass the ball. Picture this, you have the ball, then in few seconds the opposition has 3 players surrounding you, and also they have marked the players who you want to pass it to.... so what happens to you in that case... you lose possession and barca has it back.... the key to that is uniform high pressing.
