Faxanadu has such an incredible atmosphere
This game was the utter bane of my youth. I had beaten the first two Megaman games, but this one was a pain in my keister. I got suckered by the Pendant which actually nerfs your attack instead of buffs it as the game claims (they addressed this in the video), I picked up the full suit to go melee the final boss, because I was under the mistaken impression that he was immune to magic from what the Guru said (don't rely on magic in the final battle). Watching this game get completely destroyed warmed my heart. Vengeance, thy name is Slackanater.

yeah there's a bug where the game gives you the boost of the pendant as you start the game but actually takes away the pendant boost if you pick it up, which means the original was even harder.
I absolutely adore this game. So much of my imagination and world building comes from this game. And the music is AMAZING.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS been waiting years to see this in an event
FAXANADU HYYYYPEEEE, NEVER THOUGHT ID SEE THIS RAN
This is still in my top favorite games of all time. It holds up after 30 years as fun, functional, and deep. The music, graphics, and lore is the best from NES bar none
One of my favorite titles as a kid and to this day holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for posting.
This was legitimately my favorite game as a youngster. It is amazing seeing the whole thing completed in just over half an hour. I used to take days to thoroughly explore every screen and collect every item. I used to grind the first few screens for hours to get Death early on. And I remember when I equipped the final weapon/armor set, the helmet would not work for me at all. Still, I always assumed they were necessary to damage the final boss. I had no idea you could just spam Deluge and stun lock the beast in the corner like that. Amazing run. Thanks for the nostalgia!
I loved this game as a child, never go past the first zone. This is a great reminder, now I may have to go back and play
I remember beating this as a kid, with my older brother. Playing and beating the boss was definitely an achievement. Great game, sick speed run!
One of my favorite games as a kid!!!
Faxanadu was one of those games that I played a lot but never beat. That difficulty curve, though. Fun to see somebody proficient take a stab at it.

Try it as an adult. Surprisingly easy, compared to playing it as a kid.
Never seen this game before. Really cool stuff.
This game was brilliant.
Great skills, great game.
I was today years old when I found out it is pronounced Fah-ZAN-ah-du and not Faks-AH-nad-u.
I remember having a billion passwords to this game and also experimenting with them to see if I could cheat the system
I always had trouble beating games as a kid, this was not one of them. 😂😂 I beat this and Zelda 2 before I was 10 yrs old.
Writing these passwords down as a kid honestly 😂. Always wrote it down wrong
The best part of this is figuring out how utterly terrible I was at this game when I was a kid.
nope. still hate this game. 30 years later.
