I did notice a rookie mistake right at the beginning - DON'T cut the backing off - Just peel it off and fold it back - Put a crease into it and when you turn it over, the crease will act as a buffer so that the peeled off part will not stick to the table top until you put pressure on it. This way you can lay your sticker down, straighten it and when you are happy with the positioning, then apply pressure to the sticky part and work accross the length of it. Once this is done you can reach underneath the sticker and slowly pull the tab you have made by creasing the backing paper. Smooth it off as you pull the backing a little at a time. Hope I have made sence. Apart from that... well done on a good first effort. We all start not knowing what to do but with practice it gets easier and you learn easier ways to do it. I have been applying vinyl (and plastic) stickers to things for over 30 years and now just use my hands instead of a squeegee as there is less chance to damage the sticker with just a hand instead of sharp plastic. If you are carefull you will not get any air bubbles either. Just use a sweeping motion of your hand from one side to the other as you go, applying light pressure.

the guru of vinyl 🙌
You could've use a hair dryer for the edges, the heat will allow you to stretch and pull the adhesive to mold to the shape of the corners.
This is the best DIY video i’ve ever seen

I am so glad you made this video. It has been along time since I used peel and stick vinyl. You reminded me of a few things I had forgotten. Also, the cloth over the squeegee is really smart and the heat is great idea. I can't wait to do KY desk!!
Well done! The laminate marble on the table looks great.
I'm going to try this on my ikea furniture. Thanks!
enjoyed it, thank you. seeing a rookie as me doing this was really useful

This looks amazing. You did a great job. I’m about to do a table top for my makeup table and i have this marble contact paper. Your video makes it seem so easy and it makes me feel like I will be able to do it. Thank you.

how did it go?
Definitely thank you for your how-to because I live in military housing and the countertops are so outdated
You did well!
This is therapeutic
Naraya you've been to Thailand
This is amazing. Great job.
Great project, very detailed. I have a black computer desk that I will be transforming with this idea
Thanks for sharing... I was thinking of doing the same thing with our dinning table, however, similarly I am unable to find a vinyl wide enough! This definitely gave me the confidence to try joining the two! Thanks lot! Table looks lovely!

This is crazy I am literally covering a table just like that with a marble top and replacing it with the wood you have under the vinyl lol
Thank you for the video. By the way the word “vinyl” is pronounced with a long i sound (like eye) and the the emphasis is on the first syllable.
Veneel! Lol.
Astonishing energy...but the process worth sleeping on.
Hi I am from India, soon I am going to to buy these wall papers to change the look of my kitchen
I will try this method
I recommend to unscrew the table first then put the tape.
I was enjoying the whole video...lovely..I'm also planning to buy one☺😊♥️
What is black thing u used for sticking removing air bubble
Can i use it to my kitchen counter
Is easy to remove? Just wondering because I might change the design in the future.

Use a heat gun or blow dryer to remove it. Not difficult but a lot of cleaning up the sticky stuff. Goo gone helps too!
Thanks
Amazing!!!

Where can I get the sticker?
Ia this long lasting??
Can you link to the sticker?
I noticed you added 2 diff links for the contact paper . Which link is for the contact paper you used for the video ?
For the bottom edge, heat it just a tiny bit and pull to stretch it. It will get rid of the bubble. Too much heat makes it worse.
Wow! Can’t wait to try. How long did it last? Thanks for sharing.

👌 perfect
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. kzread.infoUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
Can I stick it on glass surface?
@angelacanedit
2 жыл бұрын
yes
Are there other new forms? Is there a width of 122 centimeters?
Does it feel like paper like texture?
Was the original desk textured? I want to do this on my desk, however, it’s made out of particle board but looks as if it’s wood so it’s a little textured.
Is there a way to change the leg colors too? I have a black desk and wondering

Get a spray paint n just spray it
Did no one point out that vinyl is pronounced vine-ul, not vineel? If I didn't see vinyl in the title, I'd not know what that word was.

Wouldn’t recommend the hairdryer- i got bubbles because of it.
this is all bad 👎
Stop saying vinyl like that...
