    Another excellent presentation. I'm up to 3 razors now having discovered SN in January and considering what the 4th will be. The geography of the razor blades is interesting, crazy how geopolitics can get in your face every morning....

    Bought this beautiful little razor the other day. Absolute bargain for what it is and gives a glassy finish even with the mild Derby extra blades I use in it. Honestly so good!

    After watching your review I ordered this beauty and honestly it's the first razor I own that shaves that close. A lot of blade feel to it but it does a great job on my tough beard. Used an astra green blade in it, but I think I might even try a more aggressive blade in it. All in all an amazing razor! Both visually and performance-wise. And as always, great presentation by the almighty Geo. Respect!!!

    I watched your video on rinsing the razor with cold water, I’m glad you’re still doing that. I will never rinse my razor with hot hot water again. Great video by the way. Geo💈🪒💈 Nice shave with the Fatip, took off the growth no problem. Don't see too many videos of Fatip razors, used to years ago but not lately. Refreshing to see them showcased again. Right now I'm guilty of not owning one given the aggressive nature of the brand but that may change shortly. Great demo and review, well done, thanks. See ya next time. Enjoy!

    Yeah Fatip make some great and very affordable razors. I have the Piccolo and Grande (same head, just different handle) and those are very good, in terms of aggressiveness similar to the R41 I thought about buying the Lo Storto, as the only slant I have is the Razorock german 37, which is fine, but I like having a variety of razors to choose from.

    Hey Geo, love the videos! I had a question about blade alignment on this razor. It looks like there are people who say aligning the blade to the top cap is right, and others saying this razor should be aligned to the comb. I understand that some slants are made to be aligned differently. Previously I had a Razorock German 37 slant which just would not align right, the left side of the blade always had more exposure, and the slanted right side barely showed anything. Wanted to hear your thoughts on what you feel is the right way to align it!

    I've had a Fatip Lo Storto for years now, and it's still one of my favorite razors. The feel is super smooth and very efficient. For the money, it is practically impossible to get a better razor - especially in Europe. The only "negative" is that the Fatip handles do not fit with any other razors. Meaning, just pick either a grante if you like the handle to be on the girthy side or a piccolo if you want it to be slimmer.

    I just got mine yesterday, and had a shave with TOBS grapefruit and Trafalgar T2. Not sure if I would call it aggressive, but very efficient while still being gentle to the skin. I'm curious how the Fatip would compare against something like a Merkur 37c

  • @frankseyen9156

    @frankseyen9156

    2 жыл бұрын

    I have the Merkur 39c and the Lo Storto Originale. I wouldn't call them both aggressive. The Lo Storto is more efficient, you are done after two passes. With the 39c you definitely need 3 passes and pick ups. Like all slantbar razors, it's best to pair them with a carbon steel blade like Astra green or Treet black beauty. Stainless blades are too stiff and you will easily get nicks.

    @@danieltimonen103 the Black Beauties are a bit more sharp then the Astra green. But they only last like 2.5 shaves for me. With a honing device you can get another shave out of them. Trig blades are longer lasting and a little sharper. The Treet New Edge is not very sharp, if you like Derby Extras you will also like these. The Treet New Steel is extremely sharp, to me even sharper than a feather blade. They have lots of different blades, I haven't tried them all yet. Also Tatra (Tiger) has some carbonsteel blades (which I haven't tried yet). The only non carbon steel blades that I can recommend in a slant are Derby Ustra because they are very thin and because of that also very flexible. They are a lot sharper than the old green Extras, a bit more sharp than then new blue Extras, but not as sharp as the Premium. They are a bit hard to get because here in Germany they are only sold to turkish barbers. You have to order them via eBay directly from Turkish sellers and wait like 3 weeks. I have 4 slantbar Razors that I have used so far. The Parker 55SL is very aggressive. The Lo Storto and the Windrose are medium aggressive, the Li Storto can handle longer Hair better. The the Windrose is a great razor, you can choose from lots of different handles. But the head cloggs if you try to shave a 1 week old beard. The Merkur 39c is very mild. If you are daily shaving then go with the Lo Storto. If you want your shaving done in less than 5 minutes without being extra carefully, then this or the Windrose is your shaver. If you want something more aggressive, go with the Parker. I have 3 other historic German slant razors, but they are NOS and I want to keep it that way. Those are collectors items to me.

Hey, speaking of crazy, what is up with "Williams mug soap" I saw a single puck of it going for nearly 11 dollars yesterday on Ebay, and most places I looked like Walmart and Amazon didn't have any of it at all. Did they finally discontinue it? They had been threatening to do that since about 2014 or so. Just curious. Enjoyed the video... William C. central Indiana.

    There are so many Indian wet shavers who have made a review video on BSC razors. I own that razor and from my personal experience, I suggest you don’t buy it. The razor works and it helped me in learning the ropes of wet shaving but it’s not very efficient & soon I craved for a more aggressive (or efficient) razor and bought Parker 94r (after watching geo’s review of course) Also, FYI, I had to exchange the BSC razor multiple times because of blade alignment and exposure issues. BSC has great customer service and always replied on time and resolved my query. If you don’t have a coarse beard (which I do not have either) and want a milder razor as compared to 94r, you can go for 87r by Parker. Geo has reviewed both on his channel. 94R should not be your first DE razor as it is aggressive enough and you will nick yourself. I hope this helps you in making a good purchase!
