Dokkan Battle has a few variations, one of which where he also walks forward after he gains the advantage when Vegeta strikes Cell. I'm actually surprised there weren't more games that included that detail

I think the kakarot one is the best. Best camera angles with the split screen where they both fire, gokus hands coming in from the side, cell's cool green Kamehameha, goku going super saiyan right at the end, and the way the blast obliterates the ground behind gohan, showing how powerful it is. Really great

I love perfect Cell's line in RB2 when using his solar Kamehameha. He's like, "Then, I will send everything to darkness" just so chilling

Still wild to me that my first exposure to DBZ was on Toonami in 97, and it took years after this to finally reach the Cell saga

DBZ Kakarot had so much good animation, anime accurate and really smooth dialogues

Burst Limit has got to be the best one in my opinion, with Kakarot being a close second

Despite many people not liking ultimate tenkaichi you have to admit seeing the absolute damage you caused in that game was satisfying it was even more satisfying knowing you literally played in that damaged area

One of the shittiest DBZ games ever made. But, you litterally can not deny that the people behind it had vision. I wholeheartedly believe if it wasn't for the shit gameplay and if it was more like Raging Blast in gameplay it could've been one of best DBZ game ever made. Because, There's ALOT that it does league's better then alot of good DBZ games.

Have a "Dragon World" map path that covers the story of Dragon Ball leading into Dragon Ball Z, then paths leading into GT and Super. And branching paths for the films of each series. Now that type of game would be worth $60+

What happened at the end of the cell games happened in the games but sonic mistakes (Gohan used 1 hand to kill cell not 2 take note video games)

The model for Teen Gohan in Burst limit(2008) was so good compared to even models today they just animated expressions and poses weirdly other than that it’s such a good model

One of my most favourite moves probably my second most favourite nothing beats the tri beam tho

For some reason when I played through kakarot and got to the father-son kamehameha, literal chills through me, it was amazing. I say some reason because i didn't expect to be like that, I know how the father son kamehameha vs cell went, but dang it just felt good during that cutscene.

LL gohan’s lf is still my favorite out of all other LF in dbl. it’s clean and incredibly badass

Burst limit was really beautiful for 2008

The first Budokai had the best cutscenes and climax of any Dragon Ball Z game, hands down. From the camera work, dialogue, brutality, animation detail, sound design, music (yes, I know it was plagerized but it still sounded bomb) was all done excellently and with a *clear* passion. Still holds up pretty well today. Not alot of fighting games had a cinematic campaign from what I can recall and the scenes had many resemblances to the source material, yet still remained fresh in its execution. Shame that it's constantly been overshadowed by all the new stuff. Although I prefer the english version, I see Budokai 1 as an absolute *original* in DB's gaming series.

Budokai 1 will always be the best DBZ game to me! No other game has ever had such quality cinematics. Burst limit comes pretty close though!

Budokai 1 did a pretty good job with the story mode, but I think you're speaking partly from nostalgia. Those rough early 3D models really don't look that good today. Besides that, there's very little facial animations during the cutscenes, characters' eyes almost never change, and their mouths simply move up and down. Besides that, it skipped from the end of the Saiyan saga straight to Goku fighting Recoome. In a game where Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta are all playable characters, that's ridiculous imo. Pretty much the whole Namek saga is skipped. Same shit happens in the Androids / Cell saga. No Vegeta vs #19 fight, no Vegeta vs #18 fight, no Vegeta vs Semi-Perfect Cell fight, no Vegeta vs Perfect Cell fight, no Future Trunks vs Perfect Cell fight. For a game that doesn't even include the Buu saga, they skipped way too many fights.

Kakarot was truly one of the most fun DBZ game I played in so many years. I think it did it best. Platinumed it all the way. Hope they make a proper sequel with full DB Super anime arc. The game is absolutely a stunning homage for all DBZ fans. Beautiful animated cutscenes.

The cutscenes are great but every single fight in tbe whole game feels the same except for a few bosses and for me it is so boring and repetitive. I beat the game but on my 2nd playthru i got the vegeta fight and just stopped. Every single fight is exactly rhe same and just feels like shit

I love how over half of these games completely forgot about how Gohans arm was like broken🤣🤙🏽

Let's swallow our nostalgia down. Kakarot is what the world was really waiting for. I mean in the sense of cut scene graphics and epicness factor. We had something comparable with Burst Limit in 2008, but after that it took 12 years to bring real cinematic DBZ back on the screens.

For me Kakarot is the best Game we ever get. But its the same everytime if a DB Game comes out. "It is better then Tenkaichi 3?" Thats the worst part if it comes to db games. Tenkaichi had a great combat system and that from Kakarot can be a little better. But the Game how the Story is telling is so great. For me. i take more Games like this instead of Fighterz or Xenoverse.

It’s genuinely impressive to me just how few iterations of the FSK actually get goku right. He’s canonically supposed to be in base form for the whole thing but very few versions of the attack actually have him in base.

Nostalic Guy from the 80s here: To watch DBZ, it was one episode per week in the 90s in France but i was at school so I had to ask mum to open TV & schedule a VHS recording & failed sometimes. So i rewatrch them when they were amateur dubbed by a SINGLE MALE guy in polish, Bukma voice included, on a polish tv in Satellite television bc the background voice were french lol so you could listen to the french voices if you pay attention You guys were so lucky, binging anime was not even possible in that time.
