That doctor was ahead of his time with his understanding of how mothers bond with their babies after birth and in the first two years!!

No es solo los primeros años... Es toda la vida claro que no son todas las madres, pero si la gran mayoria.

Amazing quality! Liz Taylor at 19 and Spencer Tracy at 51 looking 71 (chainsmoker). I was 2 when this was made. Those were the best days in America!

Yes,.for white Americans it was. Educated blacks, like my dad, were still being insulted with names like " boy" from white working class bozos.

The old critic Leonard Maltin says this is the first proper studio sequel in history. It was rushed into production, as the short running-time indicates. They did a pretty good job of it - until the final calamitous 10 minutes, this movie is better than the first one ("Father of the Bride"). Without the benefit of one day-long event anchoring the movie, the writers are forced to come up with conflicts that feel more organic and natural over time. Interesting to see Liz Taylor's doctor recommending the obvious bonding prescriptions: brest-feeding, close contact, etc, as if they were some wild, newfangled "back to nature" ideas that Tracy feels he has to worry about. I guess in 1951, they were! Anyway, it's all quite relatable and diverting until the ending sequence, which is ALARMING. I won't spoil the details. It appears that the writers had exhausted themselves and couldn't come up with an ending to resolve the mutual dislike baby and grandpa initially feel for each other. What they did finally come up pretty much ruins what had been an otherwise dramatic but amusing film. Eh, can't win them all.

"...a home all paid for; three children all paid for; and, a beautiful wife [all paid for, too, no doubt]." What's this crap about children "being paid for"? I was born in the 1940s, and I never "that" phrase, before.

The upscale to 4k is ok, but it should've kept 24fps instead. 60fps feels like a soap opera instead of a film

1:05:21 Diaper Service! This is what I describe to new generations of moms who think that a diaper has to be a "use once-throwaway" item that's getting increasingly unaffordable and filling our landfills with poopy plastic. My mom used to clean her own or splurge on occasion and use a diaper service. lol.

Очень актуально, дед говорит содержать малыша требуется денег, и квартира побольше, а у нас рожают и рожают и содержать детей в халупе и нищете.
