Never heard of him in Texas, but my mother did like a NYC evangelist/preacher named Reverend Ike. He was originally from South Carolina. I thought she liked him because he was good looking as a young man. But now in my old age, I realize he knew & said things about GOD in HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS, that most preachers don't know or won't say. Yet this Father divine made far more money. I don't know where ALL the wealth came from or where invested, but it seems well accumulated...still like a cult, if MARRIED couples could NOT be together, but he could. Obviously pretty powerful on the East Coast. 🙏🏽

I too have seen in person this Reverend Ike in my opinion he was the biggest phony that ever picked up a Bible but my grandmother was a faithful follower until her eyes open thank you Father God before she passed he used to hold services at 46th and Market the old Arena and my grandmother would drag me right along with her but the sad thing was many people were given their own I sent a couple of ladies who shoes needed to be repaired and that coach was thin and it was cold but yes his wife had on Nick around the collar of her suit jacket the tale of her skirt and a couple of her jacket milk and he said give to God because God needed their money I was so disgusted I told my grandmother I don't want to go back I will not go back and I didn't

When his followers became ill, they were thrown in hospitals and nursing homes for the government to pay for medical care (like my Grandmother) who I never got to know until she was thrown in one in 2007. I was denied having her as my family until I was 44 (in 2007). He broke up families and used their wives, women and female children for his pleasures. People use the word cult to lightly when it comes down to people of power. Modern day Pastors take people's money and use the same mind techniques, with no kind remorse or guilt.

I choose to focus on his attributes, eradicating racism (in his circles), encouraging financial responsibility, prosperity, and political engagement. Personally, I don't adhere to man made, organized religion, "Spirituality" is more to my liking. However, at the same time, I do not judge others for what they choose to believe, so, as far as them calling him GOD, adhering to Celibacy as a way of life, separating from their birth families, (I Personally don't agree with it) but, its their individual choice, to each his own. The most incredible thing about him was how he avoiding the racist system trying to bring him down, and lived according to his own rules. My church was integrated as early as the 1920s. Except we didn't & don't believe in interracial relationships such as marrying outside your race and dating outside your race. We believe God created man and woman for each race. And we certainly believe in procreation...The Lord said be fruitful and multiply. This man was being lead by himself and not God. Our founder as great as he was would never blaspheme and call himself God or Jesus. Our religion is a practical one. But like I said, we were also integrated in the early 1900s and still around...I am 3 generation because our church certainly believes in procreation. How anyone could get wrapped up in these false prophets is beyond me.
