It's also said that species of Shirou only act dumb to attract the attention of females to increase their unique skill "harem protagonist". It is also been observed that to increase their unique skill they do a lot of highjumps when they are alone.

This Shirou has attracted many different females. Rin is a type of female called a Tsundere, a creature that has extreme difficulty expressing their emotions and often resorts to denials and violence to cover up that fact. Because of that, and because Shirou is a “harem protagonist”, we can expect to see these two dancing around each other for quite some time.

Man, Ufotable's decision not to voice Shirou's thoughts really bit them in the ass in this scene. You'd have to read the VN to know Shirou was deliberately trolling her. Instead, he comes off as a generic dense MC.

I can understand their decision in not having a lot of inner monologue for Shirou, since it can become annoying and more along the lines of 'telling, not showing. But with that said, if they're going to have inner monologue anyway they might as well go all out and do it.

If you have an eye for animation you'll realize that they actually animated Rin's finger tapping to speed up, to show how annoyed she's getting, then slow down when she catches sight of him and stop when she turns completely. Kudos to ufotable!

In the VN Shirou is messing with her, he knows what she wants but he also knows that her pride in her image keeps her from just being honest with him.

@@MrGksarathy ah no that’s not what you said you said “legitimately dense...” which means he legitimately lacks common sense; the guy you’re replying to was talking about how Shirou has common sense and isn’t slow witted, he can get the gist of their feelings and motives but because he’s not that individual (especially if they’re female) he can’t perfectly know how they think or feel, he can only assume or break it down logically, just like any normal person. Which is why people say the anime needed inner monologue because in the VN when Shirou responds he thinks about what he said, sometimes he becomes a troll just to tease them or make jokes, other times he thinks of ways to avoid misunderstandings, or even just to comfort them. Even the idiot options have him questioning why he even said that so no he isn’t dense at all.

You know it's ufotable when even the background characters look gorgeous.

the game was much funnier, shirou ignored her and kept eating in the classroom, then rin noticed it, gets back in her own classroom then return with an eraser and throws it at shirou lol

Most anime fans misunderstand him for a generic Shounen protagonist, when in reality he's not. You can search it in internet if you want to install it. There's even a video explaining how to install it

Tohsaka is one of the very few tsunderes done perfectly. Even though my no.1 waifu is not her, she is definitely in the top 10.

In the VN the scene actually pauses to show how dramatic it is for people to see Tohsaka losing her mind xD

Fate has some of the weirdest family dynamics I've ever seen. Both their fathers attempted to murder eachother, Rin is Sakura's sister but is close to Shirou who happens to be the adopted son of the man who had Illya, but Illya doesn't know that aswell but also takes a liking to Shirou.

0:49 I love the slow panning of Shirou's face as he's walking behind Tohsaka... This is just a casual scene instead of an action or mystery scene and yet, the animators decided to put that extra effort in for the sake of bringing the audience closer to the story...

This might be a good slice of life anime minus all the violence.

I like the idea that Rin is so feared amongst the student body that none of them will dare go near her when she’s in a bad mood. Like they’d sooner miss lunch then risk her wrath.

In the visual novel, if Shirou chooses to ignore her further, she would go back to her classroom and will come right back, to blast him with an eraser.

Alot of people calling shiro dense in this scene, but its whats not being said shouts the loudest. That being said, Ufotable have yet to master the art of subtle body language during ubw. Its there but it isnt perfect. They definitely got it down by heavens feel though. Ie: u guys watched hf2, rmmbr that scene when shiro, rin and ilya just got back after they got their ass whooped by salter? Try and watch that scene again. The only person talking was shiro while the three girls only delivered facial expressions to tell the audience what they were feeling. Sakura: look of utter horror when shiro came back with his arms in red bandage. Face quickly turns to insecurity and shock when rin and ilya showed up. Ilya + rin: both of them look extremely sullen considering that both of them just lost their servants. They also nonverbally said to sakura “give us a break will ya. We almost died tonite”

Some of the options that come to his head are “she might kill me, so I think I’ll hide this one out” And in fact, after she yells at him from the stairs, the silence in the school lasts for a good moment before everyone promptly erases the moment from their memories to preserve their image of Rin

The fact Shinji social skills are unbelievable relatable to me, actually scares me

Ufotable did a good job with the dialogue that provided the context subtly
