Fun fact: Illya was already 8 years old in Fate Zero. So technically she's older than Shiro and it should be him calling Illya "Oneechan" instead. XD

Interestingly enough the reason why Illya praise Archer instead Saber despite she holding again Berserker pretty well and even manage to kill him once is because she was supposed to be struggling again Berserker and Archer is one who manage to kill Berserker, if I remember correctly the Studio did admit this mistake.

If i remember right Saber took 1 life, Archer took 2, that is why Berserker needed 3 days to recover

@@ehmolekkkkk That the thing is Saber is weakened a lot with Shirou as her master, her B rank strength were not supposed to even scratch Berserker yet she did in the grave yard fight, most Berserker stats is one rank above Saber current stats that why it strange for Saber holding pretty well instead struggling a lot, and for taking Berserker life it possible using Mana Burst but again it really taxing to Shirou who at this point is really incompetent of a mage yet she use it anyway. In VN if I remember right Archer is the only one that manage to kill Berserker while Saber is not even scratch Berserker that why Illya is impressed at Archer.

@@furukawakoyomi8413 That matches up with how I remember it going in the VN. Fate route has her get curb-stomped, then in UBW with favourable terrain and Archer's support, she's able to fight defensively and not get too injured, but archer was the only one who actually managed to hurt him. IIRC the VN made no mention of restoring lost lives or anything, it just went -1 against archer then the rest against Gil later, with the implication being that one extra life would have been enough to turn the tides. Of course, this same episode has Illya somehow beating Rin, and if I'm seeing it right even when the latter is using gems, which makes about as much sense as Sakura out-magicking Caster would. Guess they just went with whatever looked/sounded cool without much care as to whether it made sense or fit the source material

In Fuyuki Illiya is the strongest master and defeating her is quite difficult even Tokimi Rin's dad would struggle albeit he would have methods to take her out potentially. At Rin's current level she isn't a match for Illya despite being one of the stronger masters

I’m afraid Saber does not know who she is. Saber never knew Illya’s name so she assumes it’s simply another homoculous created for this war. Saber looks anguished because she’s reminded of baby Illya & Irisviel. Saber does not believe that Girl is the same one from the previous war. And in this anime she never does. It’s messed up but… that’s fate for you

Also at the moment of writing the VN, Irisviel as a character didn't even exist. Like people knew that Ilya had a mother but that's all and Saber never indicates that she knew Ilya before events of VN

@@nic558 Yes the VN literally shows no indication of Saber knowing stuff like this but that doesn't mean she doesn't know. Most of the Nasuverse doesn't even get told up front or it gets piled on top of itself with sequels or prequels adding new elements so they add scenes like this to the various anime adaptations to make things flow and make more sense. I'd say she actually does know or pieced it together and just never says anything. If it was just another homunculus it would look like Irisviel exactly who is cloned from Justeaze. Illya doesn't look exactly the same and she's younger due to actual growth from being half-human. Saber was with Irisviel for a majority of the fourth war and I would assume they talked about it at some point. She sees Kiritsugu playing with Illya in the first episode. I mean she doesn't even tell Shirou she was summoned by Kiritsugu until he basically had to find out himself.

i think it has to do with chivalry saber is the servant of another master the knight of other master Illya is an enemy not fighting her would be a insult to Illya her master to chivalry and to herself as a knight

Fate/Stay Night generally explains more that Fate/Zero, wich was writem in mind that readers was person who played atleast whole Fate/Stay Night visual novel and knows all three routes of Fate/Stay Night, but also have some knowledge of Fate/Hollow Atraxia. Although Fate route gives most of explanation you got, unlimited blade works still give you quite more than Fate/Zero.

I'll try to explain Berserker's Noble Phantasm without getting into spoilers too much. Not only can he resurrect after being killed but this Phantasm provides an immunity to most of attacks. Only the highest ranked Noble Phantasms can kill Berserker, lesser attacks will do zero damage, as shown by Archer's arrows. So, this version of Berserker is essentially a tank of the highest calibre.

I mean Archer still could kill him, but once Berserker dies he becomes immune to that attack.

You forgot that after being killed once by attack he gets resistance to that type of attack and to continiosly kill him you need different noble phantsms or to hit every time much stronger

You technically don't even need an A rank NP. Just an A rank attack of any type. So for example Saber has A rank Strength same as Berserker so if she were to hit him with any kind of weapon she could still do damage even if it was with Archer's Kanshou and Bakuya which are only C rank weapons. Rin also is able to take a life from him in the Fate route by throwing multiple gems at once to create an attack big enough to break through God Hand.

@@CalebPorter1105 no. A rank strength does not translate to A rank attack. Saber can damage Berserker because Excalibur is an A ranked weapon. Know the difference

Make no mistake, this Illya kid is fucked. In one of the VN's bad ends, Illya makes it so Shirou can't die or fall unconscious, then she has berserker crush his body bit by bit until he's basically a 2D broken husk, then she happily exclaims that Shiro is now small enough for her to carry him, and she picks up Shirous still alive, still conscious pulp of a body and takes him back to the Einzbern castle so she can continue the fun with the plenty of toys she has there. This child is a menace.

I'll bet yall really liked that fight scene 😁 cheers!

this fate is easier to understand because when you watched zero they assumed you would have read the visual novel, or just watch this anime first

Since Saber showed her sword, I don't think it's Invisible Air, more like a mini version of Excalibur Phantasm. But yeah, the line about A-rank Phantasm is way off... SPOILER ... since Gilgamesh killed Berserker exactly with a bunch of A-ranks

Like that's literally Invisible Air And even if it's Mana Burst, Berserker still survived A-rank phantasm without a scratch but died from an A-rank ability. And that's not mentioning that even C-rank Phantasms are basically the same as A-rank or A+ rank normal attacks and we're talking about A-rank NP here

@@dimaudalow Saber doesn't have any spare mana to throw mini-Excaliburs, since Shirou isn't capable of providing any mana to her On the contrary, this attack perfectly fits the description of Invisible Air Phantasm from the VN "Other than the advantage of making the blade invisible, it is possible to release the compressed wind, making it a single-use projectile weapon. The damage of such an attack is constant, and Saber's strength or magical energy does not affect it."
