One thing to note - Berserker is arguably the *worst* class for Heracles to be summoned as, since he loses access to most of his Noble Phantasms.

@@MsDark93 No Gil can only hurt Archer Herc with Ea and Chains of Heaven, Archer Herc literally told Gil to take out Ea if he even wanted to stand a chance and called Gil weak. Raw Firepower doesn't work on Archer Hercules at all. One of Archer Herc NP nullifies all Humanly Created Weapons which is everything in Gil's Gate of Babylon except Ea and Chains of Heaven

@@illumination_0109 That's not entirely true. His comment of "getting out Ea" was meant to drive Gil into blind rage and, potentially, steal it. Alcides needed a shit ton of external buffs just to keep up with GoB. Re-read the fight. Gilgamesh was wiping the floor with Alcides, until Ishtar interfered and sealed GoB away. Even after that - he *still* overpowered Alcides. And he's not immune to all weapons. Gil himself calls Alcides's pelt a "simple gimmick" that has holes in it. He starts aiming for those holes, causing Alcides to start dodging and blocking. At the end of Vol.4 Gil straight up says that he doesn't need Ea to kill Alcides.

Hercules couldn't use Nine Lives, at least not because of the class, but because the Einzberns deliberately fucked his brain to make him obey Ilya. I can be wrong

Gil give him a very high praise “You surpass your own myth at the very end” The Japanese version give it a higher emphasis, “at the end of the very end” It is very rare that Gil give him such a praise, most of the hero are tied up to their own myth, saber wants to save England, Alexander wants to conquer… But Berserker in UBW just go beyond his own myth And all of that is for his mistress

In Fate/Grand Order, in one of the Lost Belt chapters Herc literally summoned a shadow of himself out of nowhere to protect Illya. As in he just willed himself into existence. The man is absolutely committed.

Fun fact: The Chains of Heaven that Gilgamesh used is actually his one and only friend, called Enkidu. Enkidu was created by the gods in order to kill Gilgamesh, but instead of killing Gilgamesh, they became friends. After Enkidu died, he reverted back to his real form which is the chains that can kill a god.

Seeing Ilya like that... never got the chance to properly spend time with her dad or brother... broke my heart

If Shirou was silent at this moment it would lead to another Bad End

In his legend, Heracles was driven mad by Geia and killed his own children in madness. This is reason why he can be summoned as Berserker and why children theme is so triggering for him. Btw, Heracles can be summoned almost in any class (except Caster), but his strongest version is supposed to be Archer. His every labor becomes separate Noble Phantasm with incredible power

Tbh the strongest part bout Hercules NP against Gil was that he had a immunity to humanly created weapon

Rip Illyesviel . Her life is so tragic especially when I think about how Irisviel wanted Kiritsugu to let her see and enjoy all the things she cudn't do. Kiritsugu even made a promise to do that but unfortunately he cudn't keep it. It's just so sad seeing her meet the end like this but that doesn't stop me from loving Gilgamesh. He is still the Goat.

Yall have no idea how broken a 100% Artoria is with her Scabbard she is untouchable with a NP like Excalibur you have immune Servant running around with a Nuke given enough mana

A fun fact: Heracles Berserker, the version you are seeing him, is actually a nerfed and weakened version of him, because the Berserker class is his weakest version, since he loses all his intelligence and becomes unable to use his Noble Phantasms and all of his capabilities. But because the Einzbern's wanted a loyal and easy to control servant, they forced Heracles to come in the Berserker class, without the notion that it would be his weakest class. If he had been summoned as Saber, Archer (His strongest class), he could easily compete with Gilgamesh. And what helped the Einzbern too, is that even in his Berserker class, Heracles is such a badass, that he still retained some of his personality, evidenced by his weakness with children, so he has this protectiveness and love for Illiya, even in his Berserker class. And that means too, that he would be a loyal servant in any other class, as long as Illiya was his master. In short, the Einzberns screwed themselves up.

And that's why i hate archer Gil. Caster Gil is the goat for me even though archer gil >>> caster gil.

You guys define gotta watch the grand order stuff once you're finished with the main stuff. A whole anime dedicated to gilgamesh, you'll probably lose your mind

Camelot I feel shouldve been a anime series rather than a movie

At least Gilgamesh was "Merciful" to Illya this time... But anyways next episode it's going down to business

One thing I feel like I should point out is that of the main 7 classes Heracles can be sommoned in all of them except caster. Berzerker is his weakest class due to locking his other noble phantasm, if he is sommed in the archer class Herc is FAR more powerful and this fight may have gone differently.

@@demiurgos9800 Herc is summoned in the Archer class in Fate Strange/Fake and in life Herc mastered basically any weapon he got his hands on, developing the Noble Phantasm Nine Lives which can be used with any weapon which qualifies him for every class except caster. The reason he can't use nine lives in the fifth holy grail war is because the Madness enhancement has caused his motor skills to deteriorate to the point where he can't perform it. Though if you don't mind the spoilers for heaven's feel or if you've already seen it you see Shirou use Nine lives to beat Herc.

@@demiurgos9800 there's for now I'd recommend watching the three Heaven's Feel movies, which is an alternate version of the fifth holy grail war. Strange/Fake is currently an incomplete series of light novels though there was an announcement for an Anime. Fate Lost Eighnjar (I have no idea if that's how you spell it) was also announced as a new series that in production. There's a lot of fate but you're at the point where you've watched the good ones to introduce you to the universe and at this point you can kind of watch/read anything and it shouldn't be too confusing

God hand and battle continuation, Heracles is a freaking beast, and not even his strongest class

Basaka herc NP is God Hand, which gives him 12 lives. To defeat him, you have to kill him 12times with A or higher rank NPs (note that sometimes 1 NP with continuous heavy supply of mana burst can also defeat him)

А rank or stronger attacks. NPs like not a weapon but unlished np can kill him but he'll gain ressistance to that attack after ressurection.

I'm going to say this every episode: you guys should watch the abridged version by project mouthwash after this!

Gosh this episode trips my emotions every-time. But I find Gilgamesh's personality slightly contradictive because for someone rags on about boredom, he chooses the least entertaining tactic (forcing Heracles to prioritize on Illya) instead of a full head-on battle. Although its pretty much myth-accurate that Hercules had always been helpless to protect his loved one despite his immense strength (which was capable of shattering chains meant to bind gods). To this day we still haven't seen what Heracles is like in his true potential.

You understand where he is truly coming from if you watched Babylonia, the people that were involved in his society worked together so much so they overcame and brought forth the Age of Man. He was just utterly disgusted by how humans degenerated from beings able to shut the gods up to this mess. That being said Archer Gil was also the Tyrant King variant of Gilgamesh which explains his cruel decisions

Heracles would've beat Gilgamesh if he wasn't a Berserker

A few things to note: 1) In the original story, Gil never flinched in his battle against Heracles. He was in control of both himself and the battle, absolutely dominating Heracles. It would normally be a very minor change but Gil’s confidence and stoicism is such a big part of his character that I feel it’s pretty unforgivable. You can tell he wasn’t really taking the battle seriously because he wasn’t wearing his armour like he does in Fate/Zero, or in the Fate route. 2) He blinded Ilya because she has the Mystic Eyes of Sorcery, which allow her to cast spells much more easily and through vision alone. Without this context it just makes Gil’s actions look needlessly cruel - which is not to whitewash him or say that he’s a saint, but his cruelty usually has a purpose, or like good satire usually has a thematic or philosophical point. He’s still vindictive and inhuman, he could have defended against the Mystic Eyes simply by wearing his aforementioned armour since it gives him A ranked Magic Resistance, but he chose to consciously gouge Ilya’s eyes. 3) Those chains are the same ones he used against Iskandar in Fate/Zero, because he has C ranked Divinity due to tales of him being a son of Zeus. He holds those chains in equal esteem to Ea, and they’re the remains of his only friend and the one person he will ever acknowledge as an equal. 4) Heracles was in his weakest form here. He was summoned as a Berserker because Ilya’s family wanted a dumb Servant who was ‘easy’ to control, basically a cannon that you pointed at your enemies and nothing more. But being a Berserker takes away his reasoning, and his wit and cunning was the reason he was so successful as a hero. He also can’t use any skill with weapons and has to rely completely on brute force, despite being the second best swordsman in the franchise and arguably the strongest actual archer (with a bow and arrow). It was due to this level of skill that he was able to create a technique that is a Noble Phantasm in its own right called Nine Lives, that he can’t use a a Berserker. It can change from anti-unit to anti-army to anti-fortress and more depending on what exactly Heracles needs it for, and it can be used with almost any weapon like a sword, a bow or a spear, etc. At its strongest it can become nine consecutive homing anti-dragon lasers that can overpower Gil’s Gate of Babylon at full strength (if you can’t tell, Gilgamesh is holding back here), and he can make as many as a hundred attacks simultaneously at the cost of sacrificing some of their power. There’s a reason Gilgamesh is disappointed.

14:25 Bcoz of the ability 'battle continuation' - allows servants to stay bit more alive even after getting unalived. (you will get to see that ability another time in this season too)

The fact that they’re kinda rooting for Gilgamesh just because his power and charisma and ignoring the fact he is a complete asshole and villain is further proof that watching Zero first just ain’t it lmao

Yeah, they should make it a cardinal sin to watch Zero first. I can already predict there will be lots of complaints of how BS the ending is. That there is too much plot armor and nothing making sense haha. Gonna be a salty ride.

You'll be surprised, there are more broken Servants than Gilgamesh on Fate now, and plenty of them can dispose him.

Not... really? Like other than Solomon, and maybe a few Grands, Gil can still practically destroy everyone, infact, the stronger and more famous they actually are, the more screwed they are, since Gil won't hold back as much.

Seeing that you’re nearly finished(or already did so) , I will simply put on ranks all servants from F/Z and UBW so you could understand how broken Gil and servants of this war are(doing this without account of servants using all their abilities , simply their brute strength and skill): Tier 1 : Gilgamesh=Artoria at 100%=Berseker Heracles. Tier 2.5 : Medea , it all depends on circumstances, she could reach even Tier 1.5 or Tier 1 , but it all is situational. Tier 3 : Cu=Lancelot=Sasaki>=Archer of UBW. Tier 4 : Rider of UBW>Iskandar=Archer Heracles>=Artoria. Tier 1.5: Medea. Tier 2: Cu>Rider of UBW=Caster of F/Z>Iskandar. Tier 3: Lancelot>=Sasaki>Diarmud>=Assassin of F/Z. I won’t go into explanations of why they are there since most of my reasoning relies on things that are spoilers for all other Fate media , simply posted ranking as I was once shocked when found out that F/SNight servants are superior to their F/Z counterparts in all.

Meanwhile, it took Gilgamesh and Enkidu many days to just take down the Bull of Heaven. Excalibur in F/SN never got a single seal released.

@@neonplays609 and?It worked only because Gil didn’t think she somehow got it back , her win was as much of miracle as one Shirou got.Bull of Heaven is stronger than anything Artoria fought(maybe except PHH Vortiger who we know nothing about) , and EA was an authority of a god who made earth as it is now…And it means nothing because sealed Excalibur will always lose against EA , and per WoG and QsA Gilgamesh is "The strongest Servant" and nothing changes that(strongest GW servant , obviously grands and alike aren’t included because you can’t summon them.

Fun fact; the chain Gilgamesh used is actually his dead boyfriend.

In an old ova adaptation of Unlimited Blade Works Gil just rip her heart out of her, in a shower of blood. Here it's just cruel torture

It's crazy to think, but if Gilgamesh wasn't in this war, Heracles most likely would have won the whole thing. First of all, Berserkers require massive amounts of magical energy, so much so that masters who summon Berserker get dried up of all their mana and destroy themselves very quickly. This is what happened to Kariya, and according to the visual novel, this is what happens to masters who summon Berserker; "No exceptions". Well, luckily since Illya is essentially one big magic circuit herself, she has enough energy to keep up with a Berserker. Heracles isn't cheap with the energy he requires either. Nasu has gone on record saying that no mage in existence can even get to a fraction of the amount of magical energy Illya has. Then we have Heracles' Noble Phantasm; God Hand. If you thought Gate of Babylon (Gil's Noble Phantasm) was some busted shit, then God Hand is also broken as hell, although still weaker. To kill Heracles, you have to kill him 12 times for him to stay dead. It's already hard enough with his incredible strength, agility, and fighting technique, but not only does he have 12 lives, but after every life is lost, he gets a boost in abilities. On top of this, if the weapon you're attacking with isn't at least of, or close to divine level, you might as well lay down and die, because it will not make a scratch. Not to mention, every time you kill him with a weapon, that weapon will no longer have any effect on him. By the way, when he's not fighting, he can regain those lost lives over the course of the next few days Also, it is said that fighting Heracles takes a minimum of 12 hours (unless you're Gilgamesh) But wait, there's more, because he's summoned as a Berserker, his base stats are boosted at the cost of sanity. However, as we can clearly see, he has still retained a decent amount of sanity Oh yeah, and did I mention Berserker is Heracles' weakest class? Heracles can be summoned as a Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Assassin, or Berserker. The only class he doesn't qualify for is Caster. In case you're wondering, Archer is his best class. In fact, it's arguably the strongest servant in existence. If Gilgamesh were to fight Archer Heracles, Gil might as well just lay down and die, he doesn't stand a chance For the fate connoisseurs out there, please let me know if I missed anything or got anything wrong

SPOILER I mean, they defeated Berserker with Caliburn in the Fate route so. And Berserker doesn't actually get immune to the weapon/attack that killed him, it just dramatically increases his resistance to it. Remember that Saber Alter shaved his lives using just mana bursts from Excalibur during their fight in Heaven's Feel.
