@@xaviaxs that’s what happened to Arachne. She was once an incredible weaver that boasted about her skills. Athena shaped shifted into an old lady and confronted her asking if her weaving was better than the Goddess Athena. Arachne said yes and that infuriated Athena. She turned back into her original form and challenged Arachne to a weaving contest. Arachne won which made Athena even more angry. Athena then cursed Arachne, turning her into a spider lady so that she would weave for all of eternity.

Medusa is criminally underrated. I can't wait to see her in action in HF.

I just watched the heavens feel third movie ( yes it went out 1 day in theaters in my city) , the fight between her and saber alter is insane, best fight ive ever seen animated

To be honest, Stheno and Eury deserved it. Props for Medusa for finally standing up to her abusive sisters. I found it funny in the Oceanus chapter and Septem when Euryale and Stheno would often refer to her as their "Loser Sister", I am like... "Umm... she's my current main rider, wanna go talk to her? lol"

They are strange as it the two sisters actually love her and pity her for having chosen such a horrible fate for herself just to protect them. The reason they stood in front of her beastly monster form was in a last attempt to reach Medusa's heart and they accept their own death as penance. Stheno and Euryale are just weird godesses overall.

I did some research on Medusa beyond her Fate incarnation, and even back in Ancient Greece she had a lot of varying interpretations, ranging from violent monster to guardian deity (Medusa’s name even means “Protector”). The Fate version is fairly accurate, but then again it’s hard to say since there are so many versions of her legend. The one thing that seems off is that Stheno and Euryale cared deeply for Medusa in the original legends, even breaking down in tears when they saw Perseus kill her (though Fate/GO seems to imply that they do legitimately care about her, even though they don’t show it all the time)

Stheno and Euryale do actually love Medusa, it is stated in the bond information in FGO when you get Stheno's bond Lvl high enough.

I do wish that Medusa gets more respect and attention. The only thing she's got going for her is that she has the most hentai doujins than any other character in the Fate series(for now).

Well Medusa is the servant protagonist of the Heaven's Feel route. She is also one of the main characters of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. So, the only problem is they haven't adapted the stories where she shines. She was originally the 4th most popular character in Fate according to the first Type-Moon popularity polls.

(secondary still part of) The problem is that she barely got any screen time in all anime adaptations :( When Illya, Rin, Sakura got ton of screen time in Carnival phantasm, she barely appeared :( Only after Heaven feel movie and Emiya-san chi, she started to get noticed by anime fans :(

Did you know?? The real rider that are suppose to show up in og fate is perseus. Instead of putting the Medusa kiler (aka Hero in that time who put the end of Medua),they put Medusa herself which is good.

Your lore videos are really great the music is really fitting and the cards are a really awesome touch I always watch them more than one time,great work!

Medusa is such an underused, under-loved character. Given the parallels between her story and Sakura's, you could make a solid argument that Heaven's Feel is as much Rider's redemption story as anything else (working to prevent Sakura from being consumed by her pain and abuse and turning into a monster like she had). - Also, would have been cool to see Medusa (Rider) and Medea (Caster) play off each other given their similarities. Both were victims in their own Greek tragedies, abused by the gods as well as their "loved" ones. Main difference is that Medusa worked to move on from her past and make up for her mistakes while Medea never moved on, only continuing the cycle of abuse (recently found a deleted clip from UBW that REALLY shows this).

So it was Athena's jealousy of her sisters tha SHE has to suffer into becoming a Gorgon. the Age of Gods should be renamed to the Age of Dicks, because that's what it is essentially, Gods being Dicks to everyone forcing unnecessary tragedies. Ancient mythology is more nuanced than that despite its heavyhanded moral messages.

Medusa, the " I'll kill you in ten second or i will get killed in ten second" kind of servant (she gets stomp by melee or if bellerophon gets killed first, she stomps if using cybele)

She is not really an I'll kill you before you kill me kind of servant. She does not really have that means without being extreeeeemely expensive in mana consumption. She is more around slowly whittling down her enemy while avoiding harm. Hit and Run basically. She's not designed to fight like Assasins. She's more about control and evasion.

it also didn't help that in both the fate and ubw route, medusa was heavily limited in what she could do because of Shinji (mana consumption and shitty master), and even in the HF route, it takes awhile before she isn't exactly limited in her abilities (initially Shinji, and eventually mana consumption only till the coin flips). To make it even more obvious without just pointing out the mana restrictions, all of her combat related stats were down a level (agility went from A to B, and so on and so forth)

Fgo medusa deserves a skill update and stats update.

Rider Medusa is my favorite in all of Fate! I'm glad she's the servant protagonist of Heaven's Feel. The way they portray her is rancid. She's mentioned to be extremely powerful in the entirety of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia but that's it! Nasu please show don't just tell. That's why the fans misjudge her because we've only seen adaptations of Fate and UBW not HF. Even in her route she doesn't get to battle as often as Archer and Saber in their respective routes. Sigh... He really should've showed that she's powerful not just mention. In HF we even get to see her overcome her main weaknesses her being bad at close range combat and her weak endurance. She fought Archer and True Assassin close up no sweat. And she said she would only last 2 mins. against Saber Alter but was able to go 12 mins. That's shows people were wrong about her.

OtakuDaiKun For that Nasu should've portrayed her better in Heaven's Feel since she's the servant protagonist of that route. Okay I understand why she wasn't in the battle royale but she should've saved Shirou and Illya from Berserker. Takeuchi says she's one of the servants able to take at least one Berserker's lives. Not even Lancer/Cu Chulainn or Rider Iskander can do that. She should've helped them out buy Shirou time until he went and killed Berserker. Just like Saber and Shirou did in the Fate route.

did got her on my roll a couple of days ago (still at lvl 7 though) but gonna level up to form my rider line up. but i'll be damn, she's a gorgeous servant that can rival others (in terms of beauty)

While I dont mind a Zouken lore video, you should wait until a couple more chapters in FGO are available. I wont spoil anything, but you learn a lot about Zouken in one of the singularities to come. This is just a warning, of course, you´re free to do whatever you like.

Perseus is like a premium player in a mmo equipped with premium items. If I remember right, at the epilogue she has a conversation with Rin were it is insinuated that she is still drinking blood but would never let Sakura find out and as its only Sakura, her and Shirou living in the house up to that point you can guess who she's been feeding on...

I Wonder, in Fate Zero is said Zouken have adquire a relic for Kariya, but he make Kariya used the Mad Enchantment to summon a Berserker (Lancelot). So maybe the relic is already the mirror fragment? Also is said Medusa as summond as a rider because she don't want further harm or corrupt sakura, so maybe....... just maybe in a other timeline where Kariya used the relic (ir is really the mirror) we can have Kariya and a Saber Medusa? Or the most right in my view because the nature of the magic and the state of body and mind of Kariya, a Avenger Medusa?

Just like Ryonosuke the grail summon a Servant like the master, someone good but with a bad mind and thirst for revenge. Also Lancelot just make the mind of Kariya decline much more faster after he is summon! The scene of Lancelot saying Kariya is a sacrifice is really heavy.

When I first encountered Rider in the original StudioDeen FSN 2006(?) anime, All I know is that the master she serves was a total douche, I like her character design, dark, mysterious, and quite beautiful despite having her eyes covered, but I felt her character was bland, as she was defeated by Saber even before any further exposure as to who she was could be revealed which left a sense of emptiness, well what can we expect of Shinji XD but after some researching, my adoration for her visage has been reinforced by her Fate Lore past especially when her eyes behind em glasses where revealed to go with her simple casual long sleeve and pants look but despite the simple monotone attire she still looked amazing with her long purple hair and statuesque frame. Now whether it be a gag or serious situations Medusa has become my favorite anti hero servant tied with Mordred :) Thanks for the video, Oh btw where did you find that stunning picture of Medusa wearing what seem to be a Victorian Dress at 4:24 :)
