    Very good thank you FBM, I do this but I keep queen excluder on top of the bottom box which has the queen in it and the second box which has brrod and ELP in it on top for 14 hours so the nurse bees go up to it then after 24 hours I relocate the top box. I know this is a couple of steps more then this but I only have 6 hives in my back yard not hundreds like FBM , great vids and info thanks again FBM

    I would have to assume since it was a breeder queen in "Tims" yard, that he was going to let them raise thier own? Or go back in and add a mated queen.

    good work , as I think that the queen will be insulated by the foundation frame -the 3dr - because of that the bees are going to make queen cells at the other side soon

    Hi Don. When you split the two frames of brood into the 5 frame nuc did you have queen cells or were you assuming the bees would make queen cells from the brood? Steve

    Hey Don! Great videos! To keep the same trend as the last posts, I am also wondering what you do with the 5 frame nuc after the split: do you close the bees inside for a couple of days to orphanize them, or do you leave them be? will they make their own queen or do you help them out?

    Don, My old man's got a few hives on his property that the bee keeper hasn't been looking after. It started off as four hives but two are now dead. We're coming into spring now, so if I split these hives, just checker boarding, can I be reasonably certain that I'll bet back to four hives?

    So Don are you expecting those two frames of brood and bees to make their own queen, is that it, or are you going to put a queen in with that nuc, because I noticed you placed the queen back in the original hive? And what happens if they don't make a new queen in the nuc?

    +1 on this. I think he left that part out because all the bees he put in the new hive will for sure just go back to the other hive with the queen in it and possibly abandon the brood and eggs. There's a certain stage the eggs have to be in for the bees to make royal jelly to make queen cells. FBM is the best hands down but some of his answers throughout this comment section make him seem really drunk and he's not answering the questions asked. No bug deal though, his vids are super helpful.

    Hello Don: No doubt you know exactly what you are doing, however, since I do not know exactly what I am doing I was not able to move along with you. I have the feeling you are trying to out maneuver another KZread bee man time wise. In this particular type of tutorial it would probably better to explicit rather than fast. Thanks anyhow.

  • @MegaDavyk

    @MegaDavyk

    8 жыл бұрын

    +valdrin beta Yes swarming is about reproducing and passing on the genes of the hive. Every Drone is genitally identical to the queen except for gender, drones have no father. Any drone who successfully mates passes on the Queens genes.
