    I go back and rewatch these old videos. Love it!!! The knowledge that you shared with us!!! I tried grafting, that’s a young person’s game!!! I learned to cut cells from watching your videos and you are right, you will run out of equipment before you run out of cells to cut. I actually use natural combs in a timing box and cut strips of eggs out, make as many cells as you want!!!!🤷🏻 thank you again Don for all the tips

    i sell bees wax candles from my capping's after the honey is harvested. would this machine take enough capping's off so i could sell wax by the pound and produce candles . I like the machine but a bit nervous about laying out that kind of money .

    Do you set the frames with honey out for the bees to rob or do you harvest? My problem is I treat for mites in my deeps so that honey isn’t edible right?

    Don misspoke. He said that mites fly. They can't. They are parasite without wings. Small hive beetle have wings and do fly to hive boxes.

    I seen this video several years ago. When I was in my early twenties I had a man that I was buying my queens from. And I loved it. 5 dollars apiece. I had to give it up because it complicated my life not understanding bees take your money and time when you start. As does everything. Well I’m back and it’s still challenging but I’m more stubborn now than then. I’ve always remember one man up front above everyone else. The queen man. I didn’t understand what he was teaching me would still be with me today. We now call them mentors and a friend. I’m back in and this year I’m starting getting into raising my own queens. But I’m still not able to be as free as I’d like to be but I’m trying to be. Thanks for doing your video i didn’t realize it was you that made it. No telling how many times I thought of it. Lord bless and keep thanks.

    Wouldn't it be easier to make a two-frame nuc? Then you could use a standard frame. You could take a frame of honey or empty comb and put it in the two-frame nuc.

  • @jofaehnle
    @jofaehnle6 ай бұрын

    What is roughly the percentage rate of mated queens? My concern is that the queens don't find their nuc because of the symmetric lines the hives are in.

    I love your video quite informative. Am a bee farmer from kenya. am wondering how do you separate the queens after hurching in terms of the colonies? If you stick 15 cups each bar you will have 45 cups in 3 bars hence 45 colonies.
