A full size car didn't see the rear of a full size semi....yet you think it's safe to stand on that same freeway and driver's will see your cell phone light and avoid you?!?!?! 🤦🏽‍♂️

As a 34 year truck driver, I have proudly aimed for and literally C R E A M E D an average of 7 cars per year, with countless injuries. Hey, it's just part of getting your toilet paper to you on time. Have a nice crap.

They speed because that's where the open lane is. We need to get the idiots going 40 out of the fast lane so the faster drivers can exist there where they belong. Lane discipline like they have on the Autobahn.

I agree. If lane discipline was a thing idiots obeyed slows in the slow regulars in the middle fast in the left it doesnt matter people just want to be assholes while driving out in public because they have a vehicle. period. they use it as a weapon/tool/intimidation/harass etc. Its like when that one person gets a gun & now feels like superman. People driving seem to follow similar pattern. smh

Everyone hauls ass up hill and semi tractors go slow becuase they're fully load. Thats something people don't seem to understand. Be patient with slow trucks going up hill and if your speeding, make sure that your on the fast lanes.

Agree with above comments! It's fortunate that trucks DOT bumper did it's job and that truck didn't turn over and/or blow up! I'd say that driver knew what he was doing! Still now he has a "Fatal" on his DAC report due to somebody else's reckless behavior even after being found, "Not at Fault!" RIP to 4wheeler and hope for speedy emotional recovery for truck driver! It won't be easy!

some trucking companies won't hire a driver that has been involved in a fatal crash, even if it was not the trucks fault in anyway. According to the numbers, a driver who has been in one fatal crash has a higher chance to get into another one and it just makes the company look bad that they hired someone that had already been in a fatal crash. It's the same for homeowners insurance- "have you had any claims in the past 5 years?" yes- we had that hail and high wind damage 4 years ago---now you won't get the claims free discount---even though its a non-chargeable claim..

No amount of airbags can protect you from a crash at those speeds!

People haven't watch a crash test video in their lives. Cars get demolished... at 40 mph. What do you think doing 2.5 times that speed will do?

I drive semi and see it all and if you cut me off I won't hit my brakes or go in the ditch for you

The one thing I hate is being fully loaded going up a hill and having people drive like this on the slow lanes. People are not patient with us truck drivers.

I am patient with truckers. I know the job you do and it would drive me crazy because of the way other people drive. I give truckers space, I let them merge when no one else will. But I know this hill and the 10 very well. Truckers are all the way out to the number 2 lane for no reason. And that damn silver streak bus needs to stay to the right and stop going out to the fast lane doing 40mph.

Ya, those drivers have the same mentality as those who will try to put out a burning match by throwing a cup full of gas at it. Eventually, they’re the ones to get burnt!

I go up and down this hill a few times a week in my rig and I'm doing about 30 to 35 loaded. People can't go fast enough to get by me one way or another. Speed Kills!!!

Too much distracted driving going on these days 😕😕

There's a lot of distracted drivers out there. It only takes a second to look down and you're on somebody's rear end. Keep your eyes on the road

This could of easily been a FIREball on the Interstate.. Loss of a life but it was fortunate that Tanker didn't EXPLODE!!

That hill is brutal. They were going fast up the hill and didn't see the semi traveling slower on the far right lanes. Just my theory. Semis also break down or rest there.

The videographers from LLN have my respect. You know they’re doing it right when the First Responders aren’t asking them to move back. That can be one scary job shooting the scene as “Robbie Rubberneck” can take you out while gawking at or taking cell photos of someone else’s tragedy.

Looks like another DUI to me. Must’ve been going 100+ into the truck. So glad I quit drinking years ago.

This is the 50th crash I’ve seen by via verde that hill is cursed I swear

dude crashed into a giant moving truck with hazards on. luckily it wasn't a broken down car or something where an innocent could have died.

Scion actually held up pretty good, A+ crash rating. Looking at it I wouldn’t have assumed a fatality.

People are so careless with their driving. If you were looking where you were going, you shouldnt have any problem seeing a big semi truck in front of you. People are their own worst enemy in these un necessary situations. People dont have any common sense, or they just dont want to use it! DUIs and cell phones are bad driving companions.

I get off on that exit everyday for work. Gotta admit, those truckers are SLOW in that lane and I need to exit judiciously.

Trucks don’t drive like Cars when we are Loaded on a UpHill Climb guess you need to go around or leave 20 minutes earlier to get to work on time people driving Cars expect trucks to move like them that’s what the left lane is for Go Around

There needs to be at least 37 "responders" on scene standing around while the 4 other people they really need do the cutting/extraction/putting out a fire/block all lanes of traffic

All doors were able to be opened, (only) the Entire Engine area was destroyed on the car, which speaks VOLUMNS for the Car Maker. " TAKE NOTE, YOU OTHER CAR MAKERS!"

This happens and yet people will STILL speed.

Didn't know that patrol cars and firetrucks no longer carried fire extinguishers.

Its natures way of taking care of the stupid, so they don't go and harm those who were never meant to be harmed. I hope the truck driver was okay.

The truck frame and suspension got badly damaged by the collision. Probably a total loss, and by a small car too!

If that Scion had forward collision warning with auto brake, the occupants would be alive today. 😞 I keep mine on, never know when I might actually need it.

When will America wake up, and file a class action lawsuit against Auto Manufacturers for producing vehicles capable of achieving speeds higher than 100 mph, when the highest highway speed is 85! Look what happened to Remington Arms Corp.! Exceptions: Law Enforcement!

It looks like the very side of the bumper of the truck hit the car pretty much directly in the A pillar. Unfortunately there isn't any car design that can save you from that. It's sad but you can't blame the car for this one.

Scions always on here resulting in fatalities, hmm made of aluminum can. Rip

When you drive like an idiot, you die like one. What was fortunate here was the design of the rear end of that truck. Had it had the minimal under ride bar at the back end, that putrid Ski-on would have gone under the truck. Imagine the fire then! So important to drive like your life depends on it. Here is a case when someone doesn't follow that advice. Drive slower and arrive. Getting there fast sometimes you will end up "late".

It's more common to see a fire Fighter rescue a person from a car crash than from an actual fire. That's what it looks like to me.

@@jlouis5217 .I saw a Trucker get killed about a week ago. he rear ended a parked trash truck on the side and it tore his cab off flinging him out onto the freeway where he was ran over by several cars. messy stuff

If the driver was trying to get the trucker to speed up, you are doing it wrong.
