The video suggests six steps for becoming a web developer in 2023, including: 1) installing a Linux operating system on your machine, 2) becoming comfortable with an IDE (Integrated Development Environment), 3) learning HTML and CSS, 4) learning JavaScript, 5) learning a popular web development framework, and 6) building projects to showcase your skills and gain experience. The video emphasizes that the best developers use Linux and suggests starting with Ubuntu as a beginner-friendly option. The video also suggests following these steps within six months in order to either decide if web development is the right field for you or to gain enough knowledge and experience to pursue it further. if someone just looking for a summary

after hearing your advice I have installed and configured WSL, and now I am aware of 25 Linux common commands, I have been reinforcing myself to do all tasks from the command line, and so far I have been enjoying it so much. by far the best advice I have gotten as a fresher is installed Linux. it was tough for me to work with git and Linux together. thanks harkirat sir for being honest advise

Thanks so much for the informative video! Could you please cover the potential, do's and don'ts for a career switch into an IT job(in India) for people who aren't in the field and don't have a degree in it? I've heard that companies care about experience a lot but I've also heard they don't hire people over 30 and many other such things. It would be great if you could walk through the process of which distance curses / certs are needed to start and whether not having a degree becomes a point of weakness further along in a prospective career.

Hey, I really want to know if it is still a good idea for me to learn web development moving forward, as the field seems to be really saturated to me. I am a fresher and got hired in a company waiting to join. I have some time before the joining date, The job profile is most probably going to be a developer. OR skip the web development behind and start with niche languages like rust as you have mentioned it several times.
Great video!

Hey Harkirat, Amazing content again 👏👏 Can you make a video on a normal day in your life. I am curious to know about your work timings and tech stack you use. Do you have flexible work timing or a fixed time? In remote how does company make sure that you are actually working for them and not moonlighting.

Really appreciate your efforts harkirat bhai, but macos ain’t based on linux- it comes from BSD, macos runs a version of the XNU microkernel, plus a BSD personality along with a fair amount of BSD user applications. Ps : no offence just felt like you should know about that so yeah but you’re a gem
Please make a video on open source contributions

Can you make structured roadmap or guide for devops
The only reason i like this video is only because you mentor bout linux which i totally agree.
See the thing is if you dont have a cs degree you will find very rare chance in MNC as I have personal experience, majority of MNCs now have put CS/IT/ECE degree compulsion for applying for dev role, you can definately try startups but high pay is still far away guys because there is huge list of applications because everyone who cant get into mnc will be applying in startup. And you definitely need to be more technically sound than an average cs engineer is you have non cs background person, resume shortlisting is difficult for non engineers in tech role, why hire a commerce person over an engineer, FAANG is rare not every person who does CS work at faang and even many cant even get a decent job and are present in market. if you are trying to be sde it will be a never ending grind initially with low pay and you will end up broke because you dream job is always going to a cs guy no matter what. The degree criteria is not gonna change in india because the population is huge we cant accommodate entire country in IT, so follow your passion dont blindly follow and idealize a role. and the money they tell is all one time fantasy is very low than what they say. even a average business man earns more than 95% of IT employees.

If you can do projects you are the king, even from a non IT background.
Vaiya can you tell me where can I learn the fundamentals of working of a web application like the design and architecture of complex web application like Facebook , quora , WhatsApp, KZread how they use different technologies to reach the target , how the application runs on the server and on cloud how can I make the application blazingly fast through knowing the architect of how it's working etc.... Can you suggest me where can I learn these things cause most of the application development courses teach about HTml ,css , javascript , framework not the fundamentals part ...

How is the market for Java? I worked on CORE Java for 2 years and currently doing my Master's and might have enough time to learn new things. Do you suggest continuing learning frameworks in Java(like Springboot) or moving to JS completely?

move to JS, it will help you switch companies easily and increasing your ctc with every hop. Springboot will be always in less demand than a FS dev
