Love this and needed to see it! I’m 47 and have worked in the medical field for 26 years as an Account Rep. I’ve been thinking about going to nursing school but was feeling like maybe I’m getting to old to do so. Your comment changed my thinking on that. 🤗

When do CRNA schools consider prerequisite courses void? I see where some school don't take prerequisites beyond 10 years old. Is this 10 years from the course was taken in undergrad or 10 years from the graduation date with initial degree? I am not sure if you may be familiar enough with that aspect to give an answer, but I would really appreciate it. Also, thank you for all your hard work on this channel!

My advice to you don’t do it. It’s a scam. The program is 4 levels, 5 classes every 4 months. You have to pass the exams. 4 of the classes you have exams each class you have 2 exams over the four months. It’s self taught. No help. Exams are Multiple choice all the answers sound correct but there’s only one real answer. That’s why lot of ppl fail the classes or drop. In my situation I dropped and so as a lot of ppl from my class. Now if you fail you’re only allowed to take it one more time and pay for it the classes are expensive.

If you can go to a vocational college or any community college they’ll accept some of credits from your BA Degree but still gotta do your sciences for your pre reqs then start you actual nurses program. There are school that have evening classes which would be better for you while you work during the day. If you don’t have kids or are married it’s definitely a bit easier BUT I had people in my class with newborns etc are worked harddd and did it! Maybe cut some from full time to part time. Everyone can do it you just HAVE TO PUT IN THE TIME! 🙂

Actual ridiculous . In Canada a 2 year program in a hospital nursing school are in-person never online and I took a 20 month course over2 years which is a requirement as well as so many clinical hours on the floor in various med/ surgical units year1 then specialty units. Some or all of these accelerated programs are ridiculous and unsafe. We have a 4 year bachelor's of nursing degree from a great university here in Canada. And I know nurses who never did any clinical hours and all classes are online. What kind of nurse graduates with this accelerated program😮😮😮😮😮😮😩😠👱🏼‍♀️🇨🇦🥺😱🤯🩺💉👱🏼‍♀️🏥

I understand. I was nervous 😓 but when I checked into it, you can only take the accelerated route if you've earned a Bachelor's already and have taken foundational courses. I was inquiring about the process to change over from teaching full-time to nursing. I'd still have to do microbiology and a&p I and II before being admitted into an accredited program. So it's a way to career change if you have a bachelor's already.

I took the associate's degree in nursing for RN and was a 3.8GPA so was doing very well. Phi Theta Kappa and you can do it all with that really. The rest you can get online. Mostly but need to do clinical. Even a two -year degree is really very fast and you must crash course. I had worked as CNA since age 16 and worked as Unit Coordinator before it all. Some people that took the two -yr, after the third semester they took the LPN test, then finished last semester and took testing for RN. But if anyone was already an LPN some people just in the public venue told them " You do not need to take the first semester, but the college talked them into taking it anyway as to get used to the instructors better and how they teach and making sure they d not miss out on the foundation of it all. So they really took all four semesters like everyone else! The difference is if they wanted to try to work too they could work as an LPN while at school Beleive me if you take a full load of courses and do not get them out of the way first, you will not be able to work too, most likely because it would be very tough.. This is just another way it can be done. But you really should get the college courses out of the way and leave the nursing to be done separately for clinical and labs. Certainly, they now are short of help in all areas.

It’s literally the same program. It’s just quicker because we already completed the pre reqs ahead of time so we can focus only on nursing classes. The traditional does their pre reqs at the same time as nursing classes. Please don’t speak on what you don’t know because they all had the same training and take the same test at the end.

  • @carolweaver3269

It is not a scam, LPN's take a Practical nurse test and the Registered nurses take the test that is a little deeper. I knwo I went to RN school I took everything togeth3r first two semesters and then had it done except nursing next two. You must pass it or youare not a nurse. All Registered nurses must pass same exam. After that they may go further and some do as then alot iss online and yet they stil have clinicals at hospitals . (Not a scam) You can get a four year or six yr and wth the six you are a Nurse Practitioner. working as a physical with a physicain over seeing.
