CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Spicoli (Sean Penn) learns that Mr. Hand (Ray Walston) has zero tolerance for tardiness.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Amy Heckerling's adaptation of Cameron Crowe's Fast Times at Ridgemont High is often considered one of the finest films of a disreputable genre (the teen sex comedy), and kick-started the careers of many future stars. The center of this ensemble film is Jennifer Jason Leigh as Stacy Hamilton. She is a young, innocent high-school student who, as the film opens, is asking for advice from her friend, the sexually outspoken Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates). Stacy takes a liking to nebbish Mark Ratner (Brian Backer), but he is too afraid to make a move even after Stacy all but throws herself at him. She eventually hooks up with Mark's more confident best friend, Mike Damone (Robert Romanus). When not concerning itself with these four characters, the film spends time with stoned surfer dude Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) and his ongoing feud with history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston). The film includes brief appearances by such future stars as Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz, and Forest Whitaker.

This is exactly when I went to high school and the movie is spot on in most of its parts. The teachers were straight up with you and did not sugarcoat anything. I liked Mr. Hand's reaction at 1:16 when realizes the knock on the door.
One of the greatest movies you'll ever see in your life.
0:34.......Tina!!! (Nightmare On Elm Street)
Sean really looked stoned for real in this scene! I loved his lines in this movie.
Don't know why but the random "Hey, I know that dude" always kills me. 🤣
We had a GOV-Economics teacher like him at my high school in the 80s. didn’t look like him but he was hard as nails
I remember the paper smelling kinda like rubbing alcohol, anyone else?
I had a SPICOLI in my high school class. Exactly like the film Spicoli. He was murdered years later in a bar fight man! R.I.P.
"Hey I know that duuude." Spicoli ! 😂
I'd love to have him as a professor
I'd like to see a teacher try to deadbolt a classroom door today, lol

I'll take what to do in the regularly unscheduled school shootings for $50, Alex.
“This dude’s been stoned since the 3rd grade” 😂😂
So hard to believe this is now 40 years old!
i would love to see out takes and bloopers of Fast Times..

bacuss2112 ESPECIALLY those with Penn & Walston -- the crew must've been dying laughing behind the camera!

@@tommyt1971 Actually Mr. Walston was quite irritated with Jeff Spicoli, who refused to respond by any other name.

I want a Jeff Spicoli movie
A timeless classic
One my all time favorite movies dude. Reminds me of the 1980s and port Richmond high school
That button on the scene of sniffing the paper is brilliant.
If you understand every reference without consulting Google you're old as f like me
All the people watching this scene and commenting on how Mr Hand is a dick hasn't seen the whole film. First of all, Spicoli was the dick in this scene and second Mr Hand helps Spicoli pass his class by even coming to his house to help him study.

exactly. & Mr Hand telling the girl "I wouldn't come to your house and teach you history" is some foreshadowing to that
"Hey, I know that dude", I use that line at work when I see people I know.
“Hey I know that dude.” 😂😂😂😂 I use that to this day like Spicolli. 👍🏽
